Desigaspring's not really a good example...being a mere artistic representation of a beard, and therefore nowhere near as beardy as my actual beard.

Every time I see you, you've become even MORE hairy, my character designs can't be expected to keep up...

Lies. I have a fixed spectrum of beardage. (<- original phrase/concept of the day)
Though I admit, striking the correct balance between Hobo (ultra beard) and Ugly Girl (clean shaven) is still not something I've quite mastered...

lol Tim, you have never in my memory looked like an ugly girl. You do about 15 in most pre hairy beardy photos but not especially feminine.

It's clean shaven + long hair. It looks...odd.

At least you can grow a beard. While my beardage might not be as bad as that chap on Girls With Slingshots, it still takes several days for it to grow to any appreciable stubble, and is patchy. Not that I actually would want a beard, mind you... ^^

I once had a boy shave himself a orlando bloom in pirate's beard for me.
It was very cute. it also didn't hurt that the boy was pretty darn cute himself.

So... Sylphia appeals directly to the authors to get the story moving. An odd case, where bending the fourth wall is still entirely consistent within the internal rules of the story.

When your 'gods' are the personification of the writer and artist of the comic, is it breaking the fourth wall to call upon them for aid? =^-^=

"Are you a God?" "No, but I do control your fate via this eraser." "Oh [censored]!" *start Benny Hill music as Emily chases an AI around the fanfic with a huge eraser* An extract from chapter 86# Disneyland “://SYSTEM RESTORE!” said Emily frantically. “://ERROR. PLEASE CONTACT THE ADMINISTRATOR.” “The scenery around them faded to black as WILL’s manic laughter filled the air. “Wait!” Cried Ally, “You forgot one important thing! this story is only going onto the computer as we speak, and long before Emily spends all those hours typing, the episodes exist as fountain pen and pencil on lined paper. And on paper… there’s nothing you can do to stop us, because all of this scene was predestined outside your domain!” “Good point! I forgot that!” said Emily, and from nowhere she materialised a giant eraser and began chasing WILL with it, cackling. “Emily. That’s just lame. Can’t you try a little harder?” said Alice exasperatedly.

I still think that Benny Hill music playing in the background would suit that scene. =^-^=

The fictional version of Emily is very manic. that music would suit her.
I'm really glad we've got to this stage of the story. Playing with colour was just the beginning of what we want to do. We always thought that manipulating the actual medium of the comic would be the best way to show faerie magic taking place in the comic, and there is SO much good stuff yet to come XD

Only the fictional version? ^^
Teasing ya. =^-^=
I must admit, I was a tad curious as to what was happening there, with the fading of the borders (and for that matter the shift in the background color of the comic frame from white to the green you use for the outer border). There are several cartoonists who enjoy pushing the very nature of what a comic is; Framed!!! had a "choose your own adventure" theme using HTML to allow people to scroll to page segments where different graphics would appear (and areas between the scrolling where the cartoonist would scold you and say "there's nothing here, click on the links instead!" until finally you find the secondary humor embedded in the system). For that matter, City of Reality (which I just reviewed) also did something similar, where pages would "reload" when the Time Rewinder was clicked, showing you alternative possibilities. Lots of fun really, and hard to show in print.

Well we've already decided that we don't really want FL to be a print comic, so we probably wont have that problem.

Heh. You could always do what CRfH did and put out compilations on CDs; I'm not sure what you could do for extra content, however. And admittedly, CRfH had a large audience (and was updating daily) when Maritza started doing that. When Jamie Robertson tried doing something similar, it didn't exactly garner much interest apparently.

I can see why... how is a cd different from the internet? it'd have to have some pretty amazing original content to make that work.
