I like Iordan. Heck, I'm starting to warm to him and Keti. Good, then you can stop killing him off, now. So, Dan asks the question that many readers (by which I mean me) were asking, An gives the only answer we really got, Iordan points out the more serious issue, and Sylphia makes the point that they should shut up and get out of the cell while they have the chance. Good teamwork! A role for everyone. ;D

But killing him is good storytelling. =^-^=
Nice summary. Very Sluggy Freelanceish. ^^;;

what I like is how as the story progresses you start to realise that An is not the vision of perfection Keti seems to see in chapters 1-3- she has some very real flaws- she doesn't think her plans through, she's got barely any magical aptitude and her grasp of generics is somewhat unrefined...

I do believe that is called "character development" or somesuch. =^-^=
We're seeing a lot of the story through Keti's eyes, as it were. It makes sense that we'd initially see An as "perfect" and then slowly see the truth as Keti realizes her True Love is in fact a flawed girl.
Which now makes me wonder... has anyone ever created a first-person perspective webcomic where we only ever see the protagonist when he or she sees him/herself through a mirror or reflected in glass? Hmm....

He's fae. Thus he's a puppet to the Plot, which is dictating he has these long speeches. No doubt when this is all done we'll see him in the pub drowning his sorrows and wondering just why he was blabbering on all the time and sounding like a total poser. And Keti will end up joining him to have a drink. =^-^=
Assuming he survives being run through, that is. ^^;;

no its not that hes fae... its just hes trying to tell them to back off shes mine by using long speeches as a poor code... they know alright and at somepoint there all going shout: SHUT THE FOLK UP!

Odd. I see it more akin to Iordan going "something is really REALLY wrong" and An being all cheerful because Kitty now has egg on her face and lost the shiny sword and Daniel is angsting because Keti can shift and he can't. Outside of Sylphia (who undoubtedly knew before the others) who is being quiet on this (a sign of wisdom, you know!), no one cares about Keti and the significant danger she is in right now.
Or to put it another way, if Jin was there she'd be bitchslapping her brother with a shoe and telling him to stop whining and realize what's going on here. And then turning away with her nose in the air because he's too dumb to realize it and has to have it spelled out. =^-^= Iordan's forced to play this role and the role of the Only Sane Man.
It's understandable he's getting annoyed at them.

This isn't about him liking her. Try getting rid of your code book and reading what he's actually saying, because he is, in fact, saying exactly what he means. The situation with Keti is dangerous: it could lead to the complete destruction of her personality as we know it, and possibly to the deaths of a great many other people as well. It is more important than Daniel's ego right now. It's just that even more important than that, in the short term, is escaping the cell.

Though there is one other thing that's just as important, Wanderer: ensuring that you have a plan of action for escaping that doesn't just result in your immediate recapture. I have to say though that you're spot on with what Iordan is saying, and his meaning behind his words.

my my, arent we all talkative this week? this page has obviously sparked off some debate! Poor Iordan, he's very verbose about his feelings... to everyone EXCEPT Keti. I'm looking forward to drawing the next page, it's a blusplosion! @ ally- you won't have to colour this one so don't worry that you haven't got it yet, there's also a cherry page and another of Dspring for me to finish so we're not short of stuff in between xmas and new year.

Yeah. Angel would be bitchslapping Iordan upside the back of the head by now. By the way, if you ever need to borrow a healer/bitchslapper, Angel's rates are quite reasonable. =^-^=

10_09.. the blusplosion has landed. I thought this would be difficult to follow, but either I've got down the subtle differences between the 3 types of Keti or you guys are smartewr than I give you credit for.

Well, round-ears is Human, Fae is much more slender with long, pointy ears, and wolf is the only one left. That's how I keep track of it, anyway. Yeah, this is a big mass of blue and they kind of loop around in it without panel borders, but so long as I can recognize who's who (and since they're all visibly distinct enough, that isn't a problem) I can make sense of what's going on.
Now then... will you three stop arguing about whose fault it is that you have the sword and STOP HOLDING IT already? I'd kind of like the Keti we know to survive this mess, and the longer you hold the sword the less likely that's going to be.

The blur of images in the middle got confusing. However, the dialogue was easy enough to follow and the fact that were-Keti (I forget the nickname I gave her - Kaeti is easy to remember) remains mostly silent also helps.
Wanderer, she can't drop the sword. She does that, the Pirates will get it back. Yes, it's fething her up something fierce, but "old Keti" hasn't existed since she was brained by the sword back when. Besides. Characters change and grow over time. At least she's not fixating on a large-nosed asshole who has been dating a murderous brunette for years of reading time until finally she drives the blade through her beloved's chest.
Though that may still happen to Iorden. ^^;;

but "old Keti" hasn't existed since she was brained by the sword back when. I don't agree. Despite the flashes of Fae and Were personalities, she still remained herself most of the time. I realize that. I meant to mention that in my last post and it somehow didn't happen. She still needs to get rid of it. There's surely a blacksmith somewhere in town: throw it in a forge (the poor man's version of dropping it in a volcano). Track down the Guard and hand it over to them. Find another party-member and have THEM carry it (my roleplaying groups do that all the time: our rogue lately likes picking up sets of cursed items. The rest of us split them up and keep them in separate bags of holding, so he can't carry a complete set, and thus can't get his soul devoured by dark gods, or whatever we're facing that week). Whatever she does, she needs to stop touching that sword.

Why do I have this weird mental image of the Sword on a psychiatrist's couch with the Fae Shrink holding up a teddybear (or a Nerf sword) and saying "did she touch you here?" ^^;;
One problem we have with who and what Keti was is that she was showing signs of insanity soon after showing up in Faerie. Remember shoulder-Daniel and shoulder-Jin? That was a symptom that the glass house of Keti's mental state was already fracturing. So who was Keti before all that? Someone who was embarrassed by her parents, fairly cynical, and (let's face it), an idiot who'd walk into a dark room saying "is anybody there?" which is just asking for one's auntie Flib to whack you one and put a "bang!" sign on you proving you died a horrid death. ^^;;

So she was slightly crazy. That's nothing new, and doesn't invalidate my liking for her character as it has been portrayed. I didn't say I only liked her back when she was living on Earth, did I?
Shoulder Jin and Daniel are aspects of Keti's character. Their presence, while a clear sign of not-quite-sanity, does not threaten Keti's existence. The fracturing that the sword is causing, however, DOES seem to threaten it. While they may be considered aspects of the same mental disorder, they are functionally very different.
