Well, I don't know about bullets, but I have seen fairly convincing videos of a few expert people catching an arrow out of the air. It is not, however, done in the standard "hero catches arrow in an unmoving hand about an inch from its target" method that movies and comics and TV like to use. These were clearly situations where an expert archer was aiming to shoot an arrow PAST someone, through a space where the catcher's hand was poised to sweep down and grab it. And the person doing the catching first kept moving his hand downard after grabbing the arrow, second twisted his hand the instant he grabbed the arrow (thus making it so the arrow's forward momentum was pushing the shaft sideways against the palm, rather than ripping point-first through the open hand leaving bloody ruin behind), and lastly was wearing a glove.
As for grabbing the sword, it probably helped that Kitty wasn't actually swinging it at the time. Thus, by clamping her jaw down very hard (and you'd better believe a wolf can clamp their jaw down hard) Keti could conceivably catch and hold the blade before it slid back to the soft bits at the back of her mouth. Not something I'd want to try, personally.

Not that that has helped Daniel's face heal up yet. Looks like our boy might be sporting one of those fun upper-cheek-and-nose scars. =^-^=

Wow. It feels like it's been for weeks! =^-^= Though if it had been, we could have witnessed Kitty tormenting Sparkle by showing her Daniel and let her realize that her rescue has been derailed... ^^;;

You kidding? Keti just abandoned a packmate for a bloody sword. Worse, a bloody sword that bloodied HIM. I think she's lost points there. ^^;;
BTW, Em, I was joking about the time for updates. Besides. You've not gone over two weeks without an update like, oh, let's say, Megatokyo (though considering his wife has cancer (they caught it early) and Christmas shipping of stuff, it's more than understandable).

You kidding? Keti just abandoned a packmate for a bloody sword. Worse, a bloody sword that bloodied HIM. I think she's lost points there. ^^;; Keti attacked a stronger enemy, stole its most dangerous weapon, and drew it away, allow the rest of her pack to re-enter the fight and/or flee. It's a perfectly functional strategy. She's also fruitier than a nutcake at the moment, but that's beside the point.

Sometime I need to introduce you to Martha Wells' novel The Element of Fire so you can see how dangerous elf-shot is. ^^;;

kitty dosnt have another weapon (maybe a pistol) so i think they will kick down or tie up kitty then walk down the hall to see keti like a happy puppy waiting for her owner to play catch again!

She's firing a gun at Keti. And she's a good shot. Probably the equal of her sister (An). Also, it's a ship full of pirates who will likely be drawn to the commotion.
Their best bet is to escape while they still can, and possibly end up rescuing Sparkle by accident at the same time. ^^;; Keti will draw off pursuit.

Sometime I need to introduce you to Martha Wells' novel The Element of Fire so you can see how dangerous elf-shot is. ^^;; Instantly deadly to any human upon contact according to the Mercedes Lackey novels concerning Elves that I've read. However I wasn't aware that Kitty had any such thing available.

The best way to describe it from what I've seen is this: think of the Ringwraith blade shard that Frodo had stuck in him for a bit. That's what elfshot seems to do.

Well, in retrospect I would say "Go Fetch" was an unfortunate choice of words for Kitty. So would mortal steel bird shot be the equivalent of elf shot in Faery?

the link below is a little music about faeries that i enjoyed... www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggeJpnw19dIthe music is nice to listen to and the art work is quite beautiful as well as peoples different perspectives of what faeries may look like while following this soft song that is quite inspirational while writing drawing or anything crafty or creative.

The point of elf shot isn't to kill other Fae. It's to... well, not precisely kill Mortals so much as cause sickness, suffering, dry up one's cows, and curse someone eventually unto death. It's actually based on the existence of RL flint arrows that English aborigines used against other English (or rather, immigrant cultures who invaded and colonized England) until they were eventually wiped out and/or assimilated into more civilized cultures, almost a score centuries ago.
And once one fay starts using iron against another... well, next thing you know everyone is doing it, and fae can't reincarnate from a death using cold iron. Better not to use it against your foes lest it be used against you as well.
