On the broad link of general anime anywhere, I would just like to say: I love The Pillows.
I also like happening upon different variations of tracks from the FLCL soundtracks (such as Advice, or Nightmare) which actually have lyrics, thus increasing their coolness significantly.
I especially love the tracks I happened upon that aren't on the FLCL soundtracks at all. They rule.
I especially-especially love the track 'FLAME'. It has potential to possibly push 'Crazy Sunshine' off its pole of my favourite Pillows song.*
(*- In terms of the 'long' Pillows songs anyway. My favourite 'short' Pillows song is still a toss-up between White Ash, and the lyrical version of Nightmare)
Shame most of these other tracks are only in 128kbps quality really...
Edit: Bwahahaha - there's this track called 'Subhuman' which is clearly off the end of some album because it does that thing where the song ends, it has silence for a minute or so, then goes into another entirely different song. Well the first song is fairly mediocre, but the extra bit is a Electro-Synth version of 'Advice' (complete with computer synth lyrics). Hah, genius!

haven't i been telling every one that the pillows rock for ages??? next it'll be like 'oooh, do as infinity are fun'. my favourite is 'instant music' because i understand some of the lyrics without having to read the booklet.

I always liked them. I just felt like saying so because I'd found new tracks.

j rock> normal rock because you can't understand the rubbish self-pitying lyrics english ones have + they use random english words for no reasons

Be fair, the lyrics to English rock aren't always self-pitying. Look at Queen.

I got more books today.
Fruits Basket 4-6, Xxxholic 3-4.
I'm not going to be doing ANYTHING constructive for the rest of the day....

I still haven't got any more than the first volume of Xxxholic...but then Fruits Basket and Excel Saga have been taking precedence.
Fruits Basket chapter 34, contained within volume 6, is a believe the first piece of original non-anime material. It's nothing particularly exciting since it's a Yuki moping episode, but it does have some good lines (in particular Kyo: "YOU GIRLY MAN!!". Best Yuki insult ever).
Everybody's been buying stacks of comics today except me...*sniff*.

Aw...never mind, you're probably still way ahead of most of us in the comic-ownership stakes. Xxxholic is actually pretty damn good. OK, CLAMP are blatently going through it saying "What references can we make that only people who've read all our other stuff will get?" - we have Watanuki finding a plastic model of Sakura's wand, Maru and Moru reading "A City with no People", Yuko thinking out loud to Clow and also making headphones in the EXACT shape of Chi's ears...and of course, all the Tsubasa crossovers. (Oh - Yuko only gave them the fondant au chocolat so they'd buy her lots of presents for white day. Unscrupulous witch that she is). Even so, it manages to have a pretty good story all of its own. Watanuki's love interest is annoying, but his rival Domeki is funny...and anything that can bring in a 'monkey's paw' story is genius.

EMily:Thats fifty quids worth of manga! yasha: I'm gonna buy them sooner or later anyway... Emily: you can buy those books when you don't owe me thirty pounds.... *yasha put half the books back*

Oh excellent series. I don't even have a problem with the ending or anything like that (besides the subtitles on the DVD giving out five minutes before the end of the final episode, forcing me to watch the ending in dubs ). I didn't realise Hitomi was played by Maaya Sakamoto. In fact, I wasn't aware she'd ever done many character roles (as opposed to theme songs...though she does do the theme song as well). Plus of course Van played by Tomokazu Seki, who is just a LEGEND. *throws out selection of his achievements* Card Captor Sakura - Touya Kinomoto Chobits - Hiromu Shinbo Fruits Basket - Kyo Sohma Full Metal Panic! - Sousuke Sagara Gankutsuou - Andrea Cavalcanti Gravitation - Suuichi Shindou Initial D - Keisuke Takahashi Martian Successor Nadesico - Gai Daigoji Mai-HiME - Yuuichi Tate Neon Genesis Evangelion - Touji Suzahara Vandread - Bart Garsus Vision of Escaflowne - Van Fanel You're Under Arrest! - Shouji Toukarin Yeah. He's the man.
