I've removed it...but jesus, it's only 640 across. It doesn't even stretch the normal board layout for me. What the hell is your resolution?

If your computer was on 1024 x 768 or above, like mine is, then it shouldn't have been a problem.
If your computer was on anything less, like 800 x 600, then it's lame and should be reminded that resolutions that low went out with Windows 3.1.
In other news, Mr. Watson has now watched the whole of Furi Kuri (part of the great wadge of anime I deposited on his hard drive) and is now officially a Haruko fanboy. Pfft. I don't know why, but I always liked Ninamori better.

Ally reviews her new manga...that being Fruits Basket, which I bought 'cos I had a voucher.
OK, so you've probably all read it, but here's my verdict anyway.
I like Tohru a lot more in the manga than the anime. She doesn't come across as quite so domestic and downtrodden. Shigure still steals the show (I quote one of the omake: "Next week, we find out that - Yuki is actually a woman! Nah, just kidding, he's 100% man...well, 80%"), Kyo still rules, and Yuki is just as girly.

Hah...that's in volume 3 isn't it? (I've been buying nothing but Fruits Basket and Excel Saga mangas recently, having got upto volume 7 in each). Have you got them all from number 1 or was the purchase numerically random?
Tohru comes off very much the same to me. The accuracy of the anime to the manga is pretty astounding.
And that omake is awesome. I was giggling at it yesterday as a matter of fact.

I have 1-3 so far. I think it's Tohru's voice that makes a big difference - in my head, she has a more assertive voice, which changes the way I see her. And she seems to speak her mind a bit more. She's still a complete ditz, though. I love the line "Thinking and walking at the same time is dangerous..." Yes, Tohru, for you it is.
I also like the fact that Uo-chan's first name is Arisa. Bwahaha...
Up to volume 7? Is that past the bit where the anime leaves off? (As I've heard that the manga takes the story a lot further...as it should, because really the anime didn't finish anything).

We're essentially at the end of the anime series now - the stories don't come quite in the same order and they're starting to be mixed in with new stuff.
For instance, volume 6 has: The whole ending sequence with Kyou's Other Form...then a bit of new though not particularly special stuff about Yuki...then we have the episode of visiting Ayame's shop.
Volume 7 is more like 2/3 new material. Aside from the episode concerning the 'sheep boy' (Hiro) at the beginning, and the episode concerning Makoto (head of Prince Yuki fanclub) at the end, there's a lot of new stuff that mostly concerns Arisa's backstory. Plus they go to buy Tohru a swimsuit...
Yuki: "Um...well getting her a present is fine, but...why a swimsuit?" Saki: "Oh, you all don't know do you? Tohru-kun is still using her Middle School swimsuit."
*Shigure violently spits out the tea he was drinking*
Kyou: "That's DISGUSTING Shigure!!" Yuki: "What are you doing...?" Tohru (just turning up): "I'm sorry! I made you all wait!"
*Shigure places his hands on Tohru's shoulders and speaks with the utmost seriousness*
Shigure: "Tohru-kun!! We MUST buy one. We must buy you a proper one RIGHT NOW. Okay?" (Text: 'I'm begging you, please don't let this terrible crime continue!!')
*in the shop*
Tohru: "There's just so many to choose from..." Saki: "Should we go with a one piece?" Arisa (turns to Yuki and Kyou): "Boys, you wanna see her in a bikini or a one piece?" Yuki and Kyou (thinking): "DON'T ASK ME!!!" Arisa: "It's not like we're asking you what kind of panties you like." Kyou: "HAVE SOME SHAME WOMAN!!"
...And so on. It's a good chapter.
