Do you get CSI over there?

Perhaps for me the subtly is a hinderance rather than a bonus. Black Books is funny because it (and especially Bernard) is over the top, though still held together very well with the quick-flowing wit. Either that or Dylan Moran and Bill Bailey simply eclipse everyone with their greatness. And I presume we get some varient of CSI, probably on Channel 5. But then crime investigation programs are just as unappealing to me as medical ones - aside from some of the classic detective dramas like Frost, or even older ones like Kojak are good for a laugh in the midst of boring daytime television.

My favourite comedies are along the lines of Black Books, Yes Prime Minister, Red Dwarf, and Blackadder. I don't know if some kind of pattern can be discerned from that but then it's not especially problematic for you not to understand my TV tastes.

usually i don't even try. the only time I even attempt to fathom your motives is when I want to goad you into some kind of trap and then laugh at having predicted your actions, but seeing as you usually end up having the last laugh i don't know why I even do it.

Dad's really big on those medical ones btw... when I went to visit him a week ago he said he'd recorded E.R. AND 'House' AND 'Grays Anatomy'. I asked him if he secretly wished he was a "real" doctor, but he was having none of it. And yeah we get all 3 CSI shows over here - the original L.A. version pwns the other two. I'm intrigued to see a new show called "Monk" - a detective who suffers from OCD. (nice gimmick)

I knew he was obsessed with ER...good lord, that man. ¬_¬
Seen a little bit of Monk. Not the sort of thing I'd go out of my way to follow but I might watch it if it happened to be on during a bored moment.

I feel that they make me think, I'm not to big on the doctor shows tho, I like the dead people better than the sick ones.

I like the living dead! well not really because they scare me, but I like shows about the good guys battling them and winning...

when did that happen? i thought the majority of shows involving the living dead involve pretty much everyone getting wiped out except a few scrappy survivor types who battle, suffer then continue with there shit lives, not really having achieved much in the fighting back stakes

Uh, Buffy and Angel would be the most immediate examples to come to mind...

Tim I will kill you if you say anything bad about buffy. I worship the ground Joss Whedon stands on.

No, I watched Buffy. I mean sure, I wanted to slit her throat during the last season or two (by which point in time Angel has become by far the superior show), but in general it's all well and good.
Though I'm not a Joss Whedon fanboy by any means. God no.

I am. A raging fan girl. Firefly is the best thing that has ever been put on fox. period.
