'condensed yasha' says to me that she'd be tiny, and you'd put her in a tin, then UNLEASH HER ON YOUR FOES!!!! and she'd chibi them to death with hyperactivity. "Condensed Yasha: WARNING - aim away from face. Do not exceed stated dose"

Miscellaneous anime-related ranting ahead. Anime-related happiness to follow immediately after. First of all, ShinsenSubs are no longer releasing fansubs of Solty Rei because it's been licensed - after SEVEN frikkin episodes, which is what happens with Studio GONZO's reputation I guess - by FUNi-fucking-mation of all people (who, apart from just generally being crappy dubbers, have replaced ADV as the "Totalitarian License Enforcement" company of the moment). So, give the series another 4 months to finish airing; then FUNimation will sit on it for another half year; and finally they'll take another 3 months to dub and release the first DVD volume...and that's the first 4 episodes alone, and only in Region 1. March 2007 here we come. See, what am I supposed to do with episodes 5 - 7 now that they're sitting on my computer and 8 seems likely never to come? Oh, and FUNimation have licensed Tsubasa Chronicles as well. This means they'll also get the rights to apply their horrendous dubbing to Tsubasa Series 2, the xxxHolic TV series, and probably both movies. Now there's something for everyone to look forward to. ¬_¬ In relation to Solty Rei, the OST has been released and it fails to contain the ONE song I want. The release of the Steamboy DVD has been pushed back to the end of March, and will probably be pushed back further still. The majority of currently-airing anime series will be taking a week or two off in order to be pre-empted by crappy New Year's programming in Japan. Black Cat, for instance, will not air its next episode until January 12th. Other series like Paradise Kiss and Mai Otome are likely to be similarly afflicted. Bandai have FINALLY decided to do something with Mai-HiME, having sat on the license for it since last March. Of course, knowing Bandai they'll still release it over 8 discs (or their favourite, the ever inconvenient 7) instead of 6. I should not still be having to deal with 3 episodes a disc for full length series in this day and age. Plus the fact that, you know, their dubbing is even worse than FUNimation. At least FUNimation has Fruits Basket as their...solitary...reasonable effort. Some of Bandai's featured works? How about Vision of Escaflowne...Love Hina...Galaxy Angel...I'll stop now before I start wretching. As it is, the first volume of Mai-HiME is "intended" for a US release in March/April 2006. I'll tentatively put it on my June birthday list, then. Right, now that sort of stuff is out of the way, I now present: Things Keeping Me Interested In Current Anime- The character of Creed Diskenth (Black Cat). Quite possibly the best rendition of the classically psychotic bishi nemesis in recent memory. Actually, hell, a lot of the Black Cat characters are great. - The Paradise Kiss soundtrack. - The sheer bizarreness of Pani Poni Dash, which continues to surprise me with its ability to push its randomness to levels previously unimagined. ("Body temperature desu-nya.") - The plot of Mai Otome. You can TASTE the impending doom. - Everything Studio GONZO touches. - How fucking badass Mustang is in the Fullmetal Alchemist movie. - The impending release of two School Rumble OAV episodes. They came out in Japan last Thursday. IT CAN'T TAKE TOO LONG TO SUB THEM DAMMIT. >_> There are more, but blah.

Yeah, generic dating sim game "To Heart". Basic concept: male protagonist + shy female childhood friend who is just realising that she loves him + assorted other girls including android = seen it all before.
The dating sim game has in turn spawned a manga series of 3 volumes, from which the original TV series "To Heart" was adapted. There was then the sequel, "ToHeart - Remember my Memories"; followed by the third spinoff series known as "ToHeart2". I don't know why they ditched the space inbetween the words 'To' and 'Heart' after the first series, but apparently it has a purpose.
You say it has a "Naru V3.0", although I'd say she was probably just your archetypal violent character rather than specifically Naru-ish. There's only one Naru clone I recognise now, being Asuna from Mahou Sensi Negima (because Ken Akamatsu clones half the Love Hina cast in there). Kaname Chidori has surpassed the title, and I now view her in higher standing than Naru anyway. >_>

It seems that whoever updates the New Releases page on Anime-Source has gone on holiday, or something.
They haven't added any new entries since the 27th, yet on Animesuki you can clearly see that the fansubbers are still going - with episode 10 of Paradise Kiss being released a couple of hours ago.
Tsk tsk. ¬_¬

I just finished watching Inuyasha: The Love that Transcends Time...or, as it should be called - INUYASHA VERSUS MOTHRA! [/voiceover man voice]
The basic plot of the movie, I have to admit, was quite dull. Evil moth demon (from China...they keep going on and on about the fact that these demons are from China...maybe Inuyasha and co have killed off all the demons in Japan and have to go looking for fresh meat...) was sealed by Inuyasha's father, but gets unsealed due to a random Shikon shard...lots of fighting...evil moth demon goes through a transformation into uber-evil-moth-demon...lots of fighting...Inuyasha and Kagome kill evil moth demon, credits roll.
BUT...if you ignore the very generic back plot, there were so many wonderful moments in this movie. Angst - check (Kagome getting possessed and nearly killing Inuyasha makes Ally leap for joy) Warm-fuzzies inducing romantic moments - check (when Kagome's stuck in her time, and is talking to Inuyasha through the Goshinboku). Not only that, but those two moments managed to be completely hilarious as well. Possessed Kagome and her claws of steel just had me giggling "Lady Deathstrike!", and Sota's reaction when he sees his sister talking to a frikkin' tree is priceless.
Having the moth flunkie steal (copy, whatever) Miroku's kazanna was a fun twist as well (particularly when they have their little "Who sucks more?" contest - sorry, couldn't resist). My favourite moment, though, has to be in the final battle.
Kagome: (from above) Inuyashaaaa!
(Inuyasha looks up to see Kagome jumping off of Kirara's back. From quite a way up in the air)
Inuyasha: Daah! (catches her) Stupid bint!
Kagome: Eh, I knew you'd catch me.
(Miroku looks thoughtful)
Miroku: Hey, Sango! (holds out his arms) Don't be shy!
(Sango's shoulder pad hits him in the face. Ah, if only it had been a shoe...)

I like that another fansub group (Nyanko Fansubs) has picked up Solty Rei where Shinsen left off, even if their tracker is currently down.
I also like the aptly named 'ChuChuChuu' group for releasing episode 6 of Kamichu.

Having started to read the manga, I've never felt more appreciative of the Mai-HiME anime than I do right now.
If they'd adapted it directly, it would have been a vaguely harem-esque romp centered around Tate. But instead they said "fuck the manga" and went off to make something badass instead.
Anime director, I salute thee.
Edit: Bwahahaha, I've just discovered where the "invisible water tentacle monster" in Mai Otome episode 6 is lifted from. One plus side on the Otome version: it didn't dissolve clothes. ¬_¬

*Shiho. And she hasn't appeared in the manga yet. Well, okay she has. She's in the flashback explaining how Tate got a giant gash of a scar down his left arm - it involved Shiho, a rapist, and a flick knife. I think that needs no explanation. I've read the first 10 chapters now (there are 44 total), and I'm liking it a lot more. It's so entirely different from the anime that you can hardly begin to compare. At the moment, the original Anti-Orphen squad (Mai, Natsuki, Mikoto, Akane, and Tate along for the ride) have been usurped by the 'Ori-Hime' squad, led by Haruka and Shizuru, and also including Fukino and Nao. They've also lured Natsuki over to their side, and right now Nao's doing some manner of evil scheme which allows Mai to catch her and Tate in a 'compromising' position and thus break Tate apart from the group. Nao is actually only doing this because Haruka (with power of the Student Executive) said that they'd overlook her other 'misdemenours' if she worked for them. The upside of all this, is that we get to see battles that we quite simply missed out on in the anime. i.e. Oh yes. >_>
