Pigeon is supposed to be a new delicacy so becky's pigeon slaying skills could be put to use. The other week I was walking along and saw a big fat pigeon and I felt like eating it there and then. I should point out I was hungry.

I don't think I'd like pigeon unless it came completely deboned.

It was on Gordon Ramseys kitchen program where they had this food critic who went out and found foods that were becoming more popular. I have to point out tho that one week he got a three course meal out of a load of bins, which is another rising trend as people are too stingy to buy their own food they go through others garbage. They said its fine because shops and restaurants throw away good food because of the sell by date.

the sell by date is there for a reason. Granted, to be on the safe side, manufacturers normally set it a few days early, but seriously, are people so strapped for cash that they wanna risk food poisoning and possible death?

When you see the stuff that my mum's place throws away, it's criminal - I can completely understand why people would go through bins. (It'd be better if the shops and companies gave the stuff to the homeless, but y'know, that would involve having some kind of social conscience...)

The people they showed going through the trash were young people with well payed jobs. If I had a well payed job I wouldn't be bothered with wasting food and wouldn't go through other peoples left overs.

No matter how well-paid you are, wasting food is still bad.

i agree but surely you can just encouarage people to store and eat there own leftovers rather than scavenging in bin bags, thats for cats and other nightime creatures

Yeah, that's what I meant - don't chuck it away in the first place. (Unless it's rotten)
