So this chapter is gonna feature yet more romantic tension, in all varieties. And you get to meet Kim. Kim is a character we've been planning for quite some time, and is part of the extended IBYKSVerse- specifically when we want to start getting into the political situation that exists around the truce between Earth and Faerie, you'll be finding more out about her and her world. Kim is British-Asian and really, really doesn't like it when people ask her where she's "*really* from". She and Claudia have been together for several years- but their relationship is long distance. Kim was actually offered the opportunity to study in Faerie but she turned it down. But study what? And why did she do that? More on that later... Kim likes; Junk food, old motorcycle jackets and doing the opposite of what people expect just to be contrary. She doesn't like authority or... magical girls. More on that later too

Her clothes and posture made her come off as a bit of an introvert so far. She's got simple pants and an only slightly frilly shirt at an event full of bright colors and fancy dresses. Her hair is kept short and simple. She's not conversing with anyone asking around for Claudia, but instead quietly looking around on her own. She says "Surprise.", not "Surprise!". She takes a sort of submissive posture in panel 5 of this introductory comic.
Looking at things this way is probably something I'm only doing because I was just reminded somewhat recently that it is a practice some people do to attempt to take personality quizzes and such as if they were a character in a story. Those personality types aren't always a great judge of character but being able to answer all the questions as a character probably says something about them and their completeness I suppose.

I would say Kim is feeling a bit out of her element here, there are other situations where she would not come across that way at all.
