Forgive me being virtually absent from the forum for the past and following few weeks, I have a lab experiment which is currently devouring most of my time and when i get home i'm exhausted. Hope everyone is well.

You have a lab experiment, Em's been moving house... Bad few weeks for idle internet chit-chat, basically.
How long is your experiment scheduled to go on for?

unfortunately there is no schedule sigh only rough estimates based on assumptions on living organisms. For example it could be 2 weeks before i collect my last pupae, add 9 days till butterflies so thats 3 weeks then your average butterfly lives 2 weeks so thats 5 weeks then add a week for hatching so yeah anywhere between 6-8 weeks. Sigh

Nothing like studying a creature in detail for it to earn your contempt. :-p

Yeek, we're all so busy...PhD is starting to eat my life too, I can sympathise with Stu (although I have an advantage in that if I put a book down and leave it for a while, it won't die). I have a horrible feeling we're grown-ups, guys...

if i have to give up childhood i might as well give up completely. There is no joy in being an adult so far

I don't recall too much joy in being a child either. Except for rolling down hills. That's fucking fun.

fair point. Being a child was shit as little sense of personal choice and responsibility. Adulthood has too much and is therefore also shit

And teenagehood, with the hormones and the angst and the hormones and the drama and the hormones, is shittest of all.
I dunno, I'm really liking being an adult so far. That may be because I'm only responsible for myself, though. I get a feeling that being responsible for babies or other dependent things would suck.

I think it depends. If you're married (to someone you at the very least like a lot) and your spouse is someone who is willing to do a fair share around the house and also help with the baby or child, then the suckitude would lessen drastically.
