Perhaps we should start doing this for each new chapter for Footloose?

Stu, do you have some kind of phobia about long threads?

Other than the fact they can damage the forums? The Keenspot forums suffered data loss and multiple crashes as a result of significantly sickeningly long threads. Of course, these threads had 1,000+ pages, so... ^^;;

Stu, could you rename this "Footloose; Step 8"? I know it's not entirely accurate as we're 20 pages in, but it's better than nothing.

I have frequented boards with threads as long (as of today) as 57,336 posts in reply. The number of pages varies depending on what post-per-page settings you use (1,434 pages for me). They work perfectly well.
New threads for each chapter is sensible enough, but an aversion to long threads on principle is needless.
And those Keenspot forums just sound like their servers are run by incompetents.

I'd defend them but... after recent administrative changes by the Crosby family to seize control of Keenspot and turn it into their own personal webcomic company instead of the comic community it once was, I've no good will left for them. Though the forums in question were started around 1999 I think, and I'm unsure how often they were updated. At least, before the Great Forum Crashes.
So yeah. Incompetents. And that might be being polite. ^^;;

I've renamed the #2 thread as "Step 3.5 - Step 8" (since that's effectively what it was).
Starting a new thread for each new Step since a decent idea, though of course the fact that this is a new one in the middle of Step 8 isn't ideal. Unfortunately I can't merge threads on this forum (I don't think), so I'll name this "Step 8 contd."...and then we can have one for Step 9 when that comes along.
Given the number of pages that Step 8 has gone, I imagine that it won't last many more - making this thread something of a tiny anomaly. >_>

In case it interests you... these are the estimated page numbers for the series.
Part one; the dojo step 1 /41 step 2 /35 step3 /28 step3.5 /17 step4 /47 step5 /49 step6 /56 Part 2; the quest step7 /26 step8 /35-41 TBC step 9 /18 TBC step 10 /11 TBC step11 /16/TBC step 12 /34/TBC
The pages tend to change as we go along because I sometimes cut them up to improve pacing, which is hard to gague from the script. Volume 2 has about 3 chapters so far, but we haven't edited yet so we don't know the estimates.
The chapters so far have pretty much reflected the importance of events... step 1 had all the introductions, then we played about with self contained episodes before launching into the An arc over chapter 4-6... then shorter again for the start of the quest, and longer for the final chapter. This chapter is long because important stuff goes down! XD

Pirates!
I know I never say tons of insightful things, but Ally and Em are amazing, and footloose is my favorite.

We haven't had any pirates for a little while have we? Don't worry, Kitty will be back in action before the chapter is out!

Claudia is well versed in faerie haggling. One day there's gonna be a riddle to which man is not the answer, then everyone will be in trouble.

*shiftyeyes* maaaaaaaaybeee? =^-^=
I can so see it. The faerie in question is about to give the riddle and immediately says "Before I start, the answer isn't "man" or "time" or "love" or some derivative of that."
And Steve and Jin are going to go "oh [censored!]"
To which Claudia will look at them and say "Who actually says 'censored' these days?"

HOLD THE PHONE.
Yasha claims never to have heard the term "fourth wall" before.
I'm speechless.

Apparently she knew the concept well, but had never heard the name applied to it.
Which I don't really understand as being possible, but there you go.
