As Norton has now decided that i have to pay for virus protection for my laptop i have given it the boot. can anyone recommend a decent antivirus program i can download?

thats what brian put on my comp, and it works. I use a combination of AVG, zonealarm firewall and ad-aware to block pop-ups

Ive got it installed now. Im not sure exactly what its doin most of the time, but i have no obvious viruses yet so i guess its working

access it through the progrmas menu and you can ask it to scan your hard drive.

Amazing I downloaded that the other night. Yeah I obviously have good instincts for downloading random crap to my computer. One thing though was when it finished the scan a box appeared with random crap in it. I couldn't figure out what it was supposed to show as I unsurprisingly didn't sit and watch the scan so I no idea if it found any viruses.

More computer questions im afraid. My Internet is working on every page apart from hotmail/msn. as soon as i try to login it goes to the page cannot be displayed message. it seems to be working fine on everyone eles computer so i can only assume its mine thats playing up but i dont know why. any suggestions?

Scrap that question. Turned off Norton firewall and surprise surprise it works fine. Most irritating program EVER!
