BEST GAMING CONSOLE EVER*
Nintendo - Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) - Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) - Nintendo 64 (N64) - Gamecube (GC)
Sega - Master System (SMS) - Mega Drive (SMD) - Mega Drive 32X (32X) - Mega CD (MCD) - Saturn (SAT) - Dreamcast (DC)
Sony - Playstation (PS1) - Playstation 2 (PS2)
Microsoft - X-Box (XB)
* - Portable consoles such as Gameboy etc. not included.
Go into older ones like the Atari, or other contemporary ones like the Neo-Famicon (or whatever it's called) if you wish...I just know nothing about them.
Don't just say which one is your favourite - why does it rock? Why do you hate this other one? Why does yet another one rule despite it not being your favourite? Prattle away with nostalgic chatter...anything.
The floor is open.

original sega megadrive was an amazing computer console especially when combined with the plug in which let you play master system games like california games.......is that a contradiction???

I had the Master System Converter for my Mega Drive too...allowed me to play the SMS versions of Sonic 1/2 (completely different as they were), as well as others such as Sonic Chaos.
What, non-Sonic games? You've got to be kidding.
I think it's a shame that the Saturn died like it did. 'Nights: Beyond Dreams' (or whatever the subtitle was...just call it 'Nights') ruled immensely.
And just a couple more opinions:
Best Sonic Game = Sonic 3/Sonic and Knuckles (S&K is essentially Sonic 3 Part II, so they belong together)
Best Mario Game = Super Mario Brothers 3. Beyond question.
Hm, is it significant that those are both '3's? Probably not.

This is my board and I find it tedious. Any more of this tedium and I will be forced to moderate.

First of all, get the name right. It is suposed to be "The Skillz Arena - Brought to you by http://www.wall-of-fear.blogspot.com". Not skillz area

The graphics for Sonic 1 on the Mega Drive were of a different style. The colours weren't so brightly contrasted, Sonic himself was bigger on the screen, and so on. The Master System version better resembles the later small-uber-bright games, but was definitely of a poorer graphical quality.
