I don't think I can record all of the Simpsons episodes, but I could always pester my flatmates with TVs to let me watch the new episodes on Fridays ;D
O, & the best advert is the guiness one with the horses in the sea - as voted for by the public

I watched the Simpsons on Sky 1 for years, so the adverts don't bother me in the slightest.
I actually have to applaud Channel 4 on the way they've handled this. It's well known of the Simpsons' *immense* popularity, and they regularly got the highest ratings for BBC2 when they had them. C4 hyped up the debut for weeks with TV ads and more (seriously, in London there isn't/wasn't a bus shelter which didn't have a 'Simpsons on 4' ad on it). They've put the new episodes in a Friday night prime time slot, and they kicked it off with two good episodes ('The Who' and...I forget what the second one was), plus a documentary and quiz to make it seem special. They've got a company to sponser it to cover the costs (why is it always a pizza company? Dominos on Sky 1, and now Pizza Hut?) and undoubtably are going to make a mint.
Frankly, I can't see how they can lose with this one.

yes it is indeed marketing genious from channel 4 and i bet the people at BBC2 are kicking themselves in the crotch and going what the Hell have we been doing these last (x no. of years). As for the whole pizza thing who knows maybe people buy more pizza when watching simpons. Youd really think itd be a dohnut company.

Ah but do you actually know any large doughnut companies?
BBC2 simply couldn't afford it. Let's face it, they don't get advertisement or sponsorship money, which means that they don't get money according to ratings either. The BBC license fees couldn't afford to repurchase the rights, which is why Channel 4 (eventually) picked them up.

Quiz was alright. Better than some quizzes they have on these sort of occasions, like on Red Dwarf night several years back. I seem to remember the Star Trek 30th anniversary night's quiz was good though.
Why I recall these things at all, I have no idea.

I love the Simpsons more than anything in the whole wide world. And on a side note, they showed a brill hallowe'en classic when they have the whole Homer and Bart playing parts in the Raven. Not only is the Raven one of the best poems EVER, the fact that Matt Groening decided to put such a spin on it puts a humongous smile on my face whenever I think of it. And let's face it, I really don't have that much to smile about at the moment

Meh, I 've seen that Halloween episode so many times (I belive it was the very first one?) that I really can't be bothered to watch it anymore.
Plus I hate poetry from the start, so that particular satirical appeal is lost on me.
