The short answer is yes......The long answer is also yes. So far we've had 3 practicals the first one went off without any problems whatsoever. However this one we weren't being graded on so it didnt realy matter.
Practical Number 2 - They give us a ridiculouys amount of work and half way through suddendly make this statement. " Erm yes we've discovered that a lot of people find it quite hard to finish this practical." This is because NONE of the morning group finished it and only about 4 people in our group finished the practical hence meaning we were screwed. I still got 61% despite only finishing 85% of the practical.
Practical Number 3 - This weeks practical. They are supposed to give us several plants to work with and use some as controls and some as treatments. However due to poor organisation during the morning group many of the plants were damaged or destroyed so we had virtually no plants to experiment with. I applaud there incompetence.
Other idiocy - My friend Steve discovered not only can they not organise practicals they also cant add up as when he added up the marks he got on different sections of practical 2 he discovered he'd got 65% instead of the 56% on his sheet. Well done.
Also - A rather ingenious postgrad student who was there to "help" us. Came and confused us even more in the third practical by telling us we had to have two treatments and one control. This was impossible however as we only had two plants for that experiment.
And so I conclude this rant about how grossly incompetent the plant biology staff at bangor university are.

hahah! plant biology sucks! all those leaves and things. and yeah, demonstrators suck, especially when they flirt with all the girls in the group (apart from you) and actually offer to tell them the answers if they go on a date with him. i kid you not, chemistry demonstrators are perverse little men who somehow are not attracted to me even if they are desperate, and who should all just dissapear into the big ammonia melting pot of hell.
