Fixed the faery boutique error, guess I got a little over enthusiastic...
I'm trying to learn more about coding and webdesign at the moment, as I bothered investing in adobe CS3 so I have all this sweet software to play around with, dreamweaver is on the list, and I have video tutorials to mess with. so hopefully one day i can be my own technical support and not come crying to you guys with every little problem.

The problem with Dreamweaver and its ilk is they create sloppy code.
Unfortunately, due to my lack of knowledge about CSS I'm forced to no longer code. Though my HTML-jitsu was only rudimentary in any event.

CSS isn't really that complicated, and it does the important work of separating how from what.
HTML is really designed to say things like "This is a paragraph. This is a link. This is where the link ends. This is a self-contained picture. This is where the paragraph ends.", but that doesn't really mean it specifies how to draw the links, picture, etc. I approve of the move to separate the two, and there are certainly times where just raw HTML is useful.
And I agree with Tangent: Anything you use to write a page for you is going to create a mess pretty easily. I personally favor text editor composition, especially if someone else will be maintaining my work. I'd caution against becoming dependent on such a program.

I purchased a CSS For Dummies book. I couldn't understand it. Then again, it probably wasn't quite what I needed (which is a specified list of CSS commands, what they do, and when and how to use them). Or in other words, I need a Dummies Book for CSS for Dummies Book. Maybe even a Dummies for Dummies for CSS for Dummies book. ^^;;
Or I could just use WordPress. *shrugs*

Better strategy is to use w3schools. They've got a really good basic intro, as well as a reference section so when you go "How do I set the vertical alignment of the text in side a div tag again?" you just look it up.
Books are excellent for entertainment or things that don't change, like Newtonian Physics, but they tend to fall short when it comes to computer-related subjects.

w3schools is an excellent source of info for css. Nice reference material.
