HAH.
Wrest Park have announced that as of the end of this month, they'll have licensed eight new catering firms to do weddings there.
Fuck you, Zest!

Honeymoon booked!
The big one. January 2012. Hopefully kept a secret from Yasha until the very moment we check-in at the airport.
Also, wedding rings have been chosen. We went and had a look yesterday, and came to a decision on what we wanted. We're going to go and get measured (and pay) for them next Tuesday, after we've been to see Tron at the Waterloo IMAX.
My only mild disappointment on that front is that I really like the additional yellowness that comes with an 18 carat ring, as opposed to a 9 carat ring. But 18 carat rings are silly expensive, so that was always a no go. :-p

And here I thought I'd never see the day when Tim actually expressed a *preference* of ring type... so far rings seem to have been used exclusively as a subject with which to torture Yash.

Well I have to wear it, so really it was a matter of finding something that did not elicit a negative reaction...

I prefer hematite rings myself. Phil and Kaja Foglio use them as wedding bands, and have a large box of extras for when they inevitably shatter. They say there is something... right about them having wedding rings that can explode. =^-^=

we have a friend whose wedding ring is a standard mail order catalogue £9.99 type affair, because he loses them so often...

For anyone who is interested it looks as though my mum is close to an agreement over the menu for the wedding. One that won't cost us a fortune and it's gonna be a buffet like we wanted. See what you guys think.
Roasted Breast of Chicken, with lemon, herbs and Garlic, served with a white wine cream sauce served separately Roasted vegetable Lasagne Roasted new potatoes Selection of Salads Tossed mixed salad Potato, chive and mayonnaise salad Handmade Coleslaw Tomato and Red Onion Salad Vanilla Cheesecake with a baileys sauce Or Lemon Sorbet with a Tuille Biscuit Tea and Coffee £26.00 per person (price includes, Kitchen and waiting staff, Event Manager, Cutlery, Crockery, Table Linen and additional kitchen equipment) Evening Nibbles Selection of Sandwiches Crisps Cheese Straws Selection of Olives Homemade Sausage Rolls £9.00 We would serve these as small buffets and place in the centre of each table We are thinking of pushing for a third main choice, possibly gammon steak or other form of pig. Lol
It's all starting to feel really close now with the rings and now the menu. *squeal girlishly*

Mini-honeymoon booked!
Five nights in the Isle of Wight - it's cheap, pleasantly relaxing and easily accessible by train. Poifect.
Want to get the text for the invitations finalised next. It's the extra info-sheet that's the complicated bit.

Bless my mum. She bought me some confetti for the wedding. I knew she was crazy prepared, but that's a bit far-thinking even for her...

Point one: something done messed up your link. There's an ending break tag caught in it. Point two: I'd laugh but I can't shake the feeling that that comic is almost exactly how it'd go down if I ever got married.
