So Since the BBC hates be because I live in america and they won't let me look at the sherlock web page, how many episodes is this going to be? Three? More? And is it just me or are the shows longer than usual? unless this is some new super cool british thing where you have super long TV shows and then that is awesome.
So far we have downloaded the first two episodes.

There are three feature-length (90 minute) episodes.
Don't know yet whether the third one is going to be all Moriarty-Moriarty-Moriarty in order to effectively wrap it up, or whether they'll do something else and then just head over to the BBC with eyes all aflutter: "You want us to make more, yes?" >_>

I'm loving it by the way, although it's not stupefyingly clever enough for my tastes. i want to be baffled right up to the big reveal at the end.

I'm adoring it. When is the third episode set to come out?

I love it! And the first one really kept me guessing (then again, I've never been especially good at working out detective stories.) I don't think the last one is going to be all about Moriarty - considering how popular it's been, I'm sure they're going to go down the route of "Give us a long-running series and THEN we'll let you see him...eventually..." Not that he won't be hovering in the background pulling the strings. I can see him doing an L from Death Note, actually...

...You mean turning up and having Sherlock unable to tell (/prove) who he is, or dying suddenly in the middle?

ahhaha that would be great (hanging around that is, not dying- because deathnote went all to shit the moment L died)

Well, I couldn't have been more wrong about Moriarty...I thought he was played excellently - I thought he was going to be all smarmy and calculating like Mycroft, but the crazy spoiled superintelligent child thing was just brilliant, really unexpected.
Hopefully I won't be wrong about this, but I'm convinced that ending has guaranteed them another series. They CANNOT leave it there.

The BBC have confirmed that more episodes will be made. www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-10925753I think part of the reason I didn't mind Moriarty is that I recorded the episode and watched it on Monday - by which point I'd read people going "ARGH HE'S SO AWFUL" on Facebook. I therefore braced myself and...it wasn't as bad as I imagined.

Eh, I liked it because it was unexpected. It would be too easy to play it as a mirror image of Sherlock (well, a dead mirror image...because Sherlock and Moriarty are very similar...argh, it was easier to articulate when I wasn't full of wine and Chinese...)
