is that per times the advert is shown, or just per advert? because if you think about it, they've only got about 20 on the go at any one time

Per time it's shown. They sell them in 'slots' of 30 seconds or whatever.
That's mainly why you here of big companies "spending £1million on advertising" or similar, because you can bet that money wasn't soent on posters.

i met someone who arranges what adverts to put in between programme and where! he gets a big board and jiggles it all around everyday.....fun eh!
