Personally I think his character design is losing it's edge, all the girls seem to be blurring into one...
glad I'm not insane...

I found his Haibane Ranmei (if that's spelled right) filler made more sense, and I've seen far more FMP than HR...

It might have made more sense if he hadn't cropped the story shorter. As it is, it's the longest omake that has been put online (the print version of Circuity might be longer, I'm not sure). Still, it's rather interesting dissecting the omake and trying to figure out what it is alluding to in the story itself.
My suspicions? First, that Tohya survived but was hurt (and not an ouch, a booboo hurt, but something that might result in her being hospitalized). Second, Tohya being hurt is going to bring out the protective instinct in Piro, and he's going to end up in one of our traditional love triangles with Nanasawa, himself, and Tohya. (Pity, I think Ping's the perfect girl for him! ^^)
The relationship between Piroko and m0h (the long-haired chap that was the character Tohya played in Endgames) is antagonistic but still affectionate (I suspect "ravish" is not meant in the "rape" sense but more the "overwhelm you with hugs and kisses" sense). This actually matches the relationship between Tohya and Piro in the regular comic. Piro is going to have to make a decision about Tohya, probably in Chapter 10. I'm not sure if it's going to be a good thing for the relationship with Nanasawa (who was put in the Tessa role in this omake - the bright and beautiful girl who "controls" Sgt. Sagura but doesn't win his heart).
Ya know, Emily, as a fellow artist you should tell Piro he needs to work on differentiating his female characters more. =^-^= He'll whine and bemoan about it, but he'll likely listen. And if he gets too angsty, I'll threaten to unleash his wife with Livejournals on him. (I've threatened him with that before and will do so again! ^^)

I fear it would be the pot calling the kettle black, considering all the times someone has said "wait- who's that character, what are they doing there? have we met them before?" about footloose, i'm sure my character designs still need copious amounts of improvment...

Just reminds me of the xkcd strip where they talk about parodying Megatokyo and how Fred might take it...
"Fred...Fred, don't cry...we baked you a cake..."
(I'm sure Fred is much less angsty than he would have us believe, but it's still amusing)

@emily: Well, not knowing a character's name because we've not seen them in a little bit and not being able to differentiate two characters because their faces are identical (which is truly sad because one is the female avatar of one of the male leads!) is a tad different. ^^;; You've gotten good at writing your characters so each has a different facial structure. It's subtle, but it's there. Ally: Hee! Yes, that was a fun xkcd strip. Though I still love the "I love XKCD... which has even spawned Youtube versions with people singing the new song. =^-^=

Cue Tangent strolling around singing Voltaire...
"And it's so easy when you're eeeevil This is the life you see, the devil tips his hat to me I do it all because I'm eeevil And I do it all for free Your tears are all the pay I'll ever need...."
(*hug* I know you're not THAT evil, but it's an awesome song and I sing it whenever I have the chance)

Hee! Actually I consider that to be one of my theme songs! =^-^=
I'd looove to do an AMV to Voltaire, using Urd from Oh My Goddess as the subject. ^^;;

It's not dirty. I just found it rather dull.
'He is My Master' - now *that's* probably a series more along the lines of what you were thinking. >_>

Never seen Oh My Goddess...it always sounded kinda dirty to me... ;D Well. You have missed out on an absolutely fantastic series. =^-^= And it's not dirty. Indeed, the main hero has kissed her maybe a couple of times despite the fact they've been together for a couple years now and the series has run for over a decade in the mangas. Okay, there's like four Goddesses currently living under the same roof as Keiichi, but one's trying to keep Bell and Kei from doing anything, the second is doing everything to try and get them together (and thus messes things up), and the third seems to be finding the whole situation humorous (even if she did stir up things between Kei and Bell himself). There's two anime series. The first is an OVA, ran 5 episodes, and was really sweet (though the final two episodes scampered away from the plot and suggested that Bell met Kei when they were kids; absolutely sweet and adorable (and sad in places) storyline, but the manga hasn't even hinted at it so... ^^;; ) and the second is much truer to the manga and is in its second season to date. Heck, if you were a guy and dating an actual Goddess, would you dare do anything? ^^;; Heh...

If the last story arc turns out to be nothing more than Ping's dream, I am going to be severely disappointed in Fred. That's the oldest cop-out in the book!

Nope. It seems that the OMAKE was Ping's dream. How much of it, we're not entirely sure... but this update is marked as part of the Omake and this incomplete update is Page 2 of the new chapter where she comments that Largo and Piro were in her dream... but that Ping herself died. Now, if Ping suddenly states she's actually Tohya Miho, then we'll have a collective WTF moment, as Tohya did apparently possibly die, but even that doesn't mean the previous chapter wasn't real. Just the Omake. =^-^=

Okay. Chapter 9 happened. Between Chapter 9 and Chapter 10, Ping had a bad dream. It may be that the omake that Fred did between chapters 9 and 10, Full Megatokyo Panic: Clannad Warz, was the bad dream (as Ping died at the end of it).

Fair enough. It still seems that the whole story has gone a bit nebulous and weird (even within the context of MT weirdness).

Getting past the weirdness of MT and of Fred's tendency to whine at times... it's fascinating watching him work on the comic: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jic-E7KvT30Okay, we're seeing what is going to appear on the screen rather than someone scrunched over a tablet, but still! =^-^= It's probably more interesting than seeing the person over the tablet! ^^;;
