The following is a recap for the benefit of anyone not paying attention to the shoutbox.
So, in an attempt to say something topical, I started thinking about the shoulder twins. Given that Keti seems to actively interact with them, based on how other people react to her ("She was talking to her shoulder, wasn't she?"), we can assume that the shoulder twins are some kind of hallucination on Keti's part, suggesting some form of psychosis. Given that, as Tangent pointed out, Keti was surprised by their appearance, we can assume that Keti did not have any such experiences before going to Faerie. Ergo, going to Faerie is more responsible for Keti's insanity than the sword is.
It's at this point that I must have been distracted by some shiny objects, because I'm not sure where I was trying to take this point after this. Anyone care to take a guess at what my next logical step (using the term extremely loosely here) ought to be?
. . .
No, it doesn't involve penguins. I'm as shocked as the rest of you.

Well the sword is in the dojo- we could theorise that proximity to the sword is the catalyst, or faerie itself as you rightly said, or the upheaval in her life- or possibly just that she was destined to go a little wacky from the stress of being a protagonist and being part fey. Multiple Generic -induced Sanity Dysfunction, from which she is suffering is a disorder of those of mixed species blood, specifically fey-human (half-weres seem to do okay because weres and humans are both mortal) other victims being campfy who went evil, Beansprout who went evil but got dragged back, and liame, who justs teeters on the brink of sanity. The shoulder twins can be viewed as benign manifestations of Keti's MGSD... Who knows if she heard or saw things before she got to faerie, whilst she was being raised as *normal* I think its clear Yakky and Beansprout weren't doing the best job of it. (for future reference- if it can't be said in two posts- it's too long for the tagboard)

I'm thinking I was curious about the effect the sword had on the shoulder twins, and their ability (or lack thereof) to affect the "real world." This is something I like to play with in stories from time to time. Or maybe I was building up to questioning Flib's leadership qualifications for bringing someone so potentially unstable into her kingdom and putting her in proximity to something that could make it worse. You get so many problems with leadership when being in a semi-direct or better bloodline to the former ruler is the only requisite for the position. But now I have no idea. That's what I get for trying to think logically, I suppose.

Flibbage always has a reason- never question her skills

Most people have reasons for everything they do. The question is, is it a *good* reason?

I prefer to do things for no reason and make up some excuse later. Sometimes people even seem to believe me and think I had some sort of plan ahead of time.
