Oh, the silence works. In some ways, it makes it even more ominous.
And it looks like Jin was just busted. I have to wonder if Kaeti is going to confront her now (and take her out) or if we'll see the inevitable twist of Kaeti having subverted Sparkle to being her Dragon. Because that would just be too amusing. =^-^=
My one regret is I didn't find and start reading Footloose back when it first began. But then, it did give me the opportunity to do a rather fun archive crawl... and to see the revamped beginning already mostly in place. (Though I stand by my assertion that shading/greyscaling the last few black-and-white strips between the new art and the older art would help alleviate any artistic shock from going with the new art to old.)
Oh, I understand. It's just a small thought of mine. And if I had any decent skill at greyscaling I'd work on the existing art and see if I could get it looking good... but my greyscale ability is about on par with my artistic talents: undeveloped and without time to develop them. ^^;;
Ok, so everyone makes a valiant effort, but dammit! Jimmy isn't a miracle worker. Time runs out and Keti (Kaeti?) makes with the killings and everyone dies. We'll say Sparkle dies last. Sure why not. With the last person defeated the sword suddenly runs out of power leaving Keti/Kaeti all alone and everything destroyed. Bummer. Then Keti wakes up!
She sits up with a jolt, eyes wide open. Cold and covered in sweat with a pounding headache and a queasy stomache she tries to clear her head. Was it all just a dream? She looks at a picture on her dresser. Her parents. Humans. There's no such thing as werewolves or faeries. With great effort she begins to recall the previous night.
She was watching Twilight movies with a friend. They had made some sort of drinking game out of it? Things got pretty fuzzy. Keti didn't remember finishing the movie but there were some My Little Ponies at some point.
Despite feeling too awful to describe how she felt with an amusing euphemism, she could only assume it was the best night ever. Of all time. Sure the bit about doing all that with a friend might be entirely fabricated, but no point in dwelling on that. Not when there are urgent matters to discuss with the toilet.
What I find interesting is that Steve's magical bolt seems to have "slapped" some of the magic out of Kaeti. I doubt Steve started small... so Kaeti took a direct hit from a major attack and appears... lessened by it.
In other words, Kaeti appears to be fueled by magic. And she needed the magic items to drain to fully charge her "batteries" so to be able to face all of them together and have a chance of prevailing.
Naturally, the "barrier" in Keti's mind is part of the magic. If enough hits are done to Kaeti, then that wall will crumble and human-Keti and were-Keti can confront Kaeti in the mind's eye... and the final battle can begin.
