"passed" or sometimes "provisional" it means you have a full drivers license but people should give you space, in case you make a mistake because you're newly passed.
IN REALITY it means "drive like a douche in order to make this person's life as difficult as possible because they are driving slightly slower than you and scare the shit out of them" popular tactics involve tailgating, overtaking in highly inappropriate places, and beeping your horn loudly should they hesitate for even a second. I took my P plates off within a week because people were putting my life in danger in their haste not to get stuck behind me- seeing as I didn't have an instructor in the car any more, I would get freaked out by their bad behaviour and nearly crash.
On a random note I am imagining Dan and Jin having their werewolf and human halves split up and sort of jumbled together in a group and someone coming along to fix it and put them back together and making the mistake of putting the two werewolf bits together and the two human bits together.
On another note, this becomes confusing and I'm trying to recall if there was a precedent for this sort of thing previously. Seems like there might have been but I have a memory like a goldfish sometimes. I may have to read the comic from the beginning again.
I'm very glad to see that Kaeti didn't inherit unexpected skills. It seems obvious to me that An and Daniel could have taken out Kaeti if they'd been going for blood. Only their friendship for Keti and not wanting her hurt kept her from being gutted.
Okay, maybe knowing how to use the Sword effectively as a blade may be an unexpected skill. But she also watched her friends practice. She has some knowledge. It's just not effective hands-on knowledge. (It also means that Kaeti needs to be taken out now, lest she GAIN that hands-on ability.)
It also makes me wonder about reintegrating the three parts of Keti... will Keti forever be her Canid Quarter, Human Half, and Kaeti? And if so... does that mean Kaeti herself will be shunned in some way? Or will the three segments reunite into a whole?
(Interesting that Shoulder-Daniel is apparently not part of Keti-s fragmented self, but rather an imaginary aspect. Along with, obviously, shoulder-Jin. Or were they the early cracks in the wall?)
I see them as part of Human Keti, they represent her relationships and to some extent her conscience. Were Keti doesn't care much about *friendship* as such, just pack loyalty/heirarchy. Kaeti cares about trouble and hormones, and thats it. I dunno Ally, who do the shoulder people really belong to?
...In all honesty, I haven't really thought much about which part of Keti Imaginary Daniel and Imaginary Jin come from. I see them as existing in the same way characters I'm writing exist - they must be part of my brain somewhere, because I'm writing them, but the fact that, for example, one (non-Footloose) character can spend ten years in my head being a fairly useless and secondary figure and then turn round one day and say "Oh, by the way, I was masterminding this whole thing all along - see? *points at half the events of the story*" makes them feel like they're something completely separate. If that makes any sense at all.
Now I've thought about it, I have some further ideas, but I can't really go into them without the potential for massive spoilers, so I'll wait ;D
All too often Jimmy tries too hard and ends up looking stupid as a result. This time? He knows something of what he's doing here.
It would be rather amusing to see actual character growth (and growth that remains) with Jimmy. Far too often characters like him are flat and unchanging. But to see actual growth? I might actually start feeling bad about some of the story ideas I've had with him. =^-^=
If we had time, we could probably make a whole new story out of any one of our characters, they all have so much to them! even Jimmy can have a moment to shine... I'd love to do a comic about the day to day adventures of the mecha class, they're an awesome bunch.
As something of a computer nerd with significant computer hardware knowledge I'm practically obligated to back Jimmy. I mean he could still fail and screw this one up but I gotta hope for a positive outcome.
