And i meant that my friend is like in junior high and she goes through at least 3 boyfriends a week really. maybe four if she finds the right stuff to keep her going That exactly describes the point I was trying to make. If you ever watch a Square Dance (yeah I know it's an exciting prospect) they move from one partner to the next almost continuously. I would like to respectfully disagree with tangent however. I don't see Keti as being Bi/Lesbian. Also judging by the PG-13 nature of the strip so far I don't see any of the characters ending up in bed together. I do see the affects of being in the vicinity of the Sword as being the cause of some of her oddities. The Jin/Daniel shoulder demons and the separation of her racial identities. It will depend on her Human self to reign in the extremes and merge them together. If that happens I expect she will become quite formidable. I am also intrigued by the glimpse of the were-being in the most recent page. I am assuming at this point it's Keti, but she never had large canines before so this would mean that in addition to letting her were-self emerge she has also physically morphed. Interesting.

It's a point of pride for me that several cartoonists (including Emily and Ally here) have standing orders of "Do Not Feed the Tangent Hints" (or answer his e-mails concerning hints) due to my tendency to put 1 and 1 and 1 together to get 3.1415927....

It is REALLY DIFFICULT reading all the theories and not stepping in and going "Aha, no, because..." That's your plan all along, isn't it, you dastardly people! What do you expect when mortals try to figure out the Rules of Generics?

It's the Duke of York! Wait, your not actually telling us to guess are you?
There's Keti and all I'm thinking is "Young lady, take those boot-er, feet? ...off...right now. And, uh, clean up that mu-blood? ...right...um. Huh."

It is REALLY DIFFICULT reading all the theories and not stepping in and going "Aha, no, because..." That's your plan all along, isn't it, you dastardly people! Well, mostly theorists like to be able to feel that they called it ahead of time, in the cases when they turn out to have been right. And they're willing to be wrong lots of times in order to try to get that rare right moment. I figured it being Jin would have been a nice twist, but hey, Keti is still the logical choice. Now, let me ask here as well... What's the big deal about that sword that makes Kitty convinced she's invincible?

All I can think is that things aren't going to go well once Keti gets that sword. I think the second group are going to have to help An track down Keti and maybe try and restore her sanity.
I just hope Iordan survives getting run through with a cold iron blade.

What makes you think she's going to stab Iordan? Technically An is next closest after Kitty.

Okay, Sword of Slayskull 101.
No one knows where the sword came from or who created it- it may not even belong in the IBYKSverse at all, it may have crept in from some other part of the Intertextuality(the fictional multiverse). It first appeared in InubuYAKasha when super villain Buffy found it on another planet, but Beansprout and Flibbage stole it soon afterwards, and it quickly became Beansprout's signature weapon. She used it to avert an apocalypse. It's blade is iron but it's handle isn't, so it can be held by a Fey, but woe betide if you cut anyone with it.
It is fuelled by sarcasm and wit, and tends to shine blue if you say something particularly snarky in its presence. the more sarcastic you are the more powerful it becomes. Hence why Sprout got on so well with it. The blue glow is also a symptom of the in-world reality being messed with- like in Keti's case.
Okay onto it's more weird properties. Because it is a sword, it divides, cuts and breaks. One of it's earliest names in IBYKS was "the thing for opening things" which was one of our lame puns. You need to have exceptionally strong will to weild the sword, because if there is a chink in your personality, the sword will find it's way in and force it apart- hence why it's so dangerous to it's owner, and particularly to halfbreeds because they aren't all that together to begin with.
With Beansprout this manifested to begin with as the two personalities of the sword, (They were called Mervyn and Sarchitect but thats not really important)- which represented innefectual good and organised evil. We can see these as similar to Shoulder-Dan and Shoulder-Jin, a benign early symptom of Multiple Genre-induced Sanity Disfunction (MGSD). Later on, too much journeying through other worlds sent Sprout mad, as the personalities of different types of heroine tried to manifest through her and MGSD really took hold, turning her violent, irrational, and indiscriminately destructive, which ofr someone as powerful as her was pretty scary. She stabbed Flibbage and tried quite hard to kill Yakky too. Beansprout eventually got under control again, but has never really been considered "cured" of MGSD - basically they just found a way to balance out her destructiveness by introducing her to another half-fey who was her polar opposite. She isn't allowed anywhere near the sword any more.
As for Kitty, I think its fairly clear Kitty doesn't really know much about the sword, except it's powerful and shiny. She doesn't understand it's blue shiny sarcasm powers, or what it's capable of.. all her talk of how she can't be stopped is probably based on conjecture.
Questions?

So Kitty is essentially being stupid, here. Okay, that explains what I wanted to know, thank you muchly.

Kitty isn't stupid. Unfortunately, Kitty has been caught up in literary conventions which is working toward ensuring Keti (the protagonist) prevails. Also, there is one other thing to consider: the Sword of Slayskull may want to be in Keti's hands. Considering how damaged and fragmented her personality is from merely being smacked upside the head with the sword (and it was starting to fragment prior to that), once she gets her hands on it... well, things will turn ploin-shaped quickly. ^^;;
So don't think of Kitty as an idiot or the like. Kitty is instead a victim of the Plot and of forces that rule in Faerie. And let's be honest here: if Keti had not gone after An and crew, it's quite likely they would have lost, and Kitty would have kept the blade... and she may very well have been able to prevail against any and all comers until Keti arrived.
After all, Kitty is subject to the Plot in multiple ways... and it would benefit her until a sufficiently-potent Protagonist arrived. (Mind you, it would be interesting to see if Steve would have qualified for that as well; he's got a touch of Protagonist Syndrome going himself.)

In spite of Keti's normally ineffectual martial arts skills I suspect that were-Keti is about to open a large can of whup-a** on Kitty. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the heroes have to step in and save Kitty from her. Edit: I just noticed my board status. Who are you calling a wench!!!!
