Because finding amusing/low-maintenance ways to provide one's self with a creative distraction is always a good thing.
So I was flicking through the early episodes of IBYKS (which, on a side-note, I notice got mildly edited at some point. Flibbage's semi-chavvy dialogue in the very first episode has been altered, but my comments about it being chavvy haven't been removed. It just appears to make no sense when you read it, is all >_>)...
...Er, yes. Flicking through the early episodes of IBYKS was I, when I thought myself: wouldn't it be a fun little wheeze to partake in the very same kind of exercise that IBYKS was at its very beginning. That is, a 'duelling' narrative where I and another person take it in turns to independently advance some manner of story in small(ish) pieces...and cope with the randomness that we each inflict upon the other.
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that Stuart would inevitably be the primary party willing to take a bash at this one. >_> Not that Em or Ally wouldn't be great, but I suspect they're busy with their own stuff, after all.
So Stuuuuuuuuaaaaaaaart; get in here, and declare yourself to either be theoretically bothered or not bothered.

I thought you "couldn't do" random story nonsense, and excelled in the grand arching visions of vast and overly-complex plot?
That's the excuse you've always given me at least. :-p

*pout* Doesn't mean I'm not willing to give it a go. It will probably crash and burn but what the hey.

I would actually enjoy a writing project too, keep my hand in. do you wanna work with one person or many?
the only rules when we were writing IBYKS was that we never planned ahead, each chapter had to be a reaction to previous ones (of course it got a small bit edited in retrospect but at the time it was spontaneous.)

Yeah, that was the sort of thing I was going for.
I don't think it would be a problem if it were 2 or 3 people, and we could probably manage 4. It's just the more people you have, then it might seem a little more detached for everyone individually while they wait for their turn. That might not matter in practice, though.
The one thing that perplexes me though...is what to start such a thing off with. >_>

Well the rather uninspiring beginning of IBYKS was me writing ally notes about Darry and Camilla with only the names changed to protect the innocent , and then Ally wrote me a story back about THE NEXT GENERATION... which ended with the now immortal;
and it all spiralled out of control.

Heh. Indeed.
Still want to see if Stu's interested first. And then...well, perhaps inspiration will strike someone to come up with something random to start us off.
...Yash is eagerly wanting the laptop now. I fear what she shall come up with.

So far there is a were-dragon boy and his female (childhood?) friend. Both somewhere between the age of 16-25, probably.
Don't worry, we can veto this. :-p

are we going for the tried and tested meandering adventure set up. Or do we want to try something else maybe more like a school set up or something?

I wouldn't really want to pin it into a particular setting before we started... I imagine it will inevitably veer off in a fantasy/sci-fi type vein given the interests of everyone involved, but it needn't be designed as a linear adventure or anything.
All a setup really needs is one or two people and Some Thing Happens. What that leads to next is up to Writer #2.
