Ah. I must admit, it's amusing. I'll have to tell my friend Bill; he'll probably start using it because he loves things English (including most English comedy). ^^

We pirates are always lurking about.
Stu, why do you use text speak when you are presumably in front of an actual computer?
I simply ask because watching you and tim fight, him with real words and facts and sense and you with the "u" and whatnot, makes me feel like I'm watching tim kick a puppy.

To be fair, even if Stu used grammar, watching him and Tim argue would still be like watching Tim kick a puppy. It'd just be a slightly less scruffy puppy. ;D

It would be like watching Barack Obama and Sarah Palin debating. *rolls eyes* Except more amusing.

Good call, wanderer. Let's keep things light. Personally I have no problem with things getting off-topic - that's how conversations develop, after all - but probably best we steer clear of potential flame wars. (We could always have a thread specially for respectful political debate).

That is dearest Tea. A lovely friend who deserved a cameo. She is pretty small and likes beverages.
PS. update may be late tomorrow as I'm trying to finish a cherry page but I have half-term workshops to teach.

You did a superb job of drawing her; she looks adorable in panel 1. =^-^= (I hope she doesn't mind me saying that about her fictional presentation.)

As I mentioned in the Cherry thread, one of the interesting things this update is suggesting (with Tangent's Tangents, of all things ^^) is the fact we have multiple layered storylines running at the same time that may compete with each other. For instance: First Girl loses, First Boy wins. It's obvious that Keti is the First Girl mentioned and Daniel the First Boy despite the confusing nature of An's status as both First Boy and Girl (she was seen initially as a boy by Keti, and generically this has resulted in considerable confusing both emotionally and generically for Keti's story). The thing is, Keti's not the only protagonist. We have an existing storyline within the comic with An (and also with Daniel). For An, Daniel was the "First Boy" and thus her Plot will compete to bring An and Daniel together. We've not yet seen Daniel's "origin" for the Dojo, so we don't know yet who the "First Girl" his Plot has glommed to, but I'd not be at all surprised to find it's Sparkle (who is going through a Trial By Fire to possibly shift her personification from the Libby to something a little more sympathetic (though probably still a bit of an itch - one of those itches you get on the arch of your driving foot when you're driving somewhere)). And of course, we have Keti's attraction to An, which An has resisted... I must admit some curiosity if she feels no attraction to Keti, or is attracted to Keti but wants strongly to have a friend instead of a romantic interest by a primary protagonist which may by the whims of the Plot be changed. Depending on how much generic knowledge An possesses, she may very well realize that being Keti's romantic interest means constant doubt and twists... being Keti's friend is in fact less stressful than being Keti's love-interest. Not to mention that another trope is in full force here - not only is Daniel the genuine "First Boy" that Keti first encountered, but they quarrel all the time. I'm not quite sure how to describe the trope (TV Tropes suggests Belligerent Sexual Tension), but basically it's two people who seem to dislike each other or at least constantly disagree with each other end up falling in love. Another thing to realize about the First Boy/Girl Trope is this: often it lasts for the run of the series. It is rare for a First Boy/Girl romantic situation to be rectified early into the story. Thus Kaeti (Keti's fae fourth) is going to have multiple moments of hope and of heartache... as may Keti's Human Half if she ever gets over her own denial. The person I feel for most here is An. It's fairly obvious that An has a thing for Daniel. She probably witnessed the breakup between Daniel and Sparkle, and may have been holding a torch for her rival (because he has been her rival...) and there is a similar bit of BST between An and Daniel with his constant desire to prove himself against An. You have to wonder if part of An had wanted to tell Daniel... and if maybe she had been dropping clues for him, which is why there was some part of him that was suspicious of An. Not that this actually alters the Love Docohedran chart at all, except to strongly suggest that suspicions lain with the cover of this chapter may be revealed sooner rather than later.

Good Heavens, Tangent, leave some analysis for the rest of us! I'm surprised an inn would have free rooms at all. And... wait, they're splitting up the party into one-person-per-room? There are at least a few storylines where that would be a really unwise thing to do. Who's going to watch over Keti? And how do we know they won't be attacked and kidnapped while split up like that? It could happen!

Inns always have room. They couldn't capitalise on their rip-off prices otherwise.
That'll be 500 Gil please!

Inns always have room. They couldn't capitalise on their rip-off prices otherwise. That'll be 500 Gil please! It's not about having room, it's about having FREE room. And FIVE FREE rooms, at that. The question here is the use of the word "free." Did An mean "five rooms we don't have to pay for" or "five rooms that are currently unoccupied"? Well, you raised all the potential pairings that came immediately to mind. I don't know where else to go with it. I notice An says everyone's exhausted, but Safiya looks more curious than tired. Of course she hasn't exactly been walking the whole distance.

Hmm. It might be a Britishism here... we think "free" as in "don't pay" but considering there is "deluxe" and "normal" that does suggest payment is involved. And considering they're on a quest for the Dojo, they could just have expenses forwarded to Flibbage's account. ^^ It would make sense for it to be what you said... and as a former cartoonist I must admit that word choices are dependent on bubble sizes.
--------
Well, Syl did have a big spell go off... that probably is wearing on a mental level. And I suspect flying all the time (even if you don't have to obey gravity) probably ain't easy.
Interesting that Iorden is carrying Keti instead of Daniel or An. Is that because he's the weakest fighter (and hurt)? Or because of his own feelings for Keti?
