I'm not taking any insults from someone who can't tell the difference between 'there' and 'their', lucy.
And besides lu, you KNOW about the crap controls in AOD, you know about the mad 'i've got a target in sight *caper caper* who cares where I walk' sequences.

Tim I can't spell. This is a well established fact. Learn it, love it, get over it.

If you can't spell you have no right to get overly annoyed about grammar. That's a fact too. >_>

I corrected the grammar on a sign in a toilet in M&S the other week.
In my defence, it wasn't just a few little mistakes. What they'd written made no sense unless you read it backwards and sideways.

see correcting the grammar of others is extremely thin ice in written form. You have to make sure that what you've written is exactly right or you face the terrible scorn of the world.

Well, those in the world who know about grammar, anyway...

no lu, there's being a grammar nazi, and there's simple spelling rules:
There: a gesture to an area. Their: belonging to them They're: "They are"

im aware of their differences. i just dont care enough to use all of them when its easier just to use one. The meaning is clear, so why is the correctness of the communication so important?

Because it still changes the meaning of the sentence. Communication is arguably the most important thing in the world, and mistakes - even if they're easily recognisable - still have an effect. For example, the people of Berlin knew exactly what JFK meant when he told them "Ich bin ein Berliner", but it hasn't stopped them taking the piss out of him for the past forty-odd years.

I just had a dream where Dara O'Briain was my boss (and I skipped work to go buy an XBox 360 instead) and Pete actually did play Harry Potter in some manner of TV adaptation - hah! (Thing is, he just kind of acted like himself...only less rude...)
There was also some sort of sinister doppelganger that kept turning up, but I had to wake up for work before he could really get round to doing anything.

That sounds like a fun world to live in. I would pay good money to see Pete play Harry Potter...
I dreamt I was sleeping in the church hall near my house, and the pastor was a little concerned about this and came round and gave me a talk about how to deal with evil, and then later on the place got invaded by zombies (except they were really articulate zombies who looked alive). I had to climb up onto a shelf near the ceiling while they all milled around on the ground and told me just to come down so they could eat me.
Em, I blame you. ;D
