Woooooooo.
Losing out on what has effectively been a 3 month window would have been ultra harsh. >_>
I like receiving my annual ISA statement with details of the interest it's accrued in the last year. I know that if I were to think about inflation and the 'real value' of my savings then it might not look so great, but fuck it: I've effectively earnt £337.57 for doing nothing. Yay for tax-free interest!

I got around 100 this year, but it's pretty much time to wave bye bye to isas, i get the feeling I won't have much to put in them from now on.

I do want to help out at some point, but it's a little awkward since most weekends I've got a football match to go to (usually on a Saturday afternoon), which would limit me to just one day in the weekend. Still, every little helps I suppose...

I don't mind, just pop up and say hello, marvel at our kitchen.

*hugs Emily* Congrats on not being screwed out of that money. =^-^=
I wish I could help with the house but... you know... kind of far to drive. And wet. And I don't have a passport so I can't even fly out (if I could afford it). ^^;; Ah well...

I'd prefer to be helpful rather than simply marvel at the kitchen, but if you say so...

We're trialling some new computer monitors at work and they are ridiculous. 24 inches! And with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 it makes most websites (which are generally created to suit a width of up to 1024 pixels) look amusingly isolated in the middle of the IE window.
Except forums, like this one, which stretch aaaaall the way across the screen, so yay. >_>

I laugh at your plebian view of what constitutes acceptable amounts of desktop space.
I feel cramped if I'm working on anything less than two 1680x1050 displays (which is sadly the case at home, need to find a good 24" IPS panel).

surely if you sit too close to anything that big your eyes will hurt and eventually melt into a puddle of goo

I've grown so used to working on a dual-monitor system that I've set up my laptop to run off a separate monitor and am using its monitor as the dual-monitor. ^^ Not as much space as at work though. ^^;;
Sadly, when I get my Lazy Setup ready downstairs, I'll only have one monitor - the 42 inch HD television I bought. Hey, I want to sit in a reclining chair with a wireless keyboard and mouse and play games and write from a comfy chair! ^^ Though if the 42 inch TVs go on sale and drop below $500 maybe I'll buy a second one... =^-^=
