Let's be aware that Scunthorpe equalised to make it 1-1 when they last met City in October.
Final score: 5-1 to City. ¬_¬

Hmm, now 2-3.
Still don't think they'll complete a comeback, but makes it more interesting at least.

All that's left is to wait for the draw, I suppose.

Algeria beat Ivory Coast in the Quarter Finals of the African Cup of Nations!! The only way that this is relevant is that I have Algeria in a sweepstake at work, and there are cash prizes for 1st/2nd/3rd placed. Getting through to the Semi Finals effectively gives me a 3-in-4 chance of monies...woo! (Plus, theoretically, with the Ivory Coast out it means that Drogba and Kalou should be back at Chelsea sooner...maybe.)

kalou in favour at the moment?

Better to at least have the option, really. >_> Plus, Kalou appears to have adopted a ridiculous new semi-mohawk haircut whilst away in Africa...and I wish to see and mock it. Though honestly, I'll take Sturridge over Kalou at the moment. Even though every appearance Sturridge now makes is effectively costing us an extra £50,000 in transfer fees to City... You know, if Sturridge makes even a single international appearance (say, brought on for the last three minutes in a friendly), then Chelsea have to pay City a whopping £1 million extra as well. I would say "those would be the most expensive three minutes of Roman Abramovich's life"...only I suspect that might be incorrect. ¬_¬

It was by tribunal. He transferred on a free but because he's still young and City 'invested' in training him during his teens, we had to pay some measure of compensation as decided by...some group of FA people, or something. We wanted to pay £3m. City wanted us to pay £10m.
Basically, we got closer to what we wanted than they did. >_>
Though I can't say I'm convinced whether taking 6 months after he's signed to determine the fee for said signing is quite the best way for the FA to be running this sort of thing...

Liverpool v Everton and Chelsea v Arsenal are both on Sky this weekend.
A good set of football viewing...if you happen to enjoy watching players getting irrationally pissy in derby matches. >_>

So. John Terry has been stripped of the England captaincy. In Capello's statement: "When I chose John Terry as captain, I also selected a vice-captain (Rio Ferdinand) and also named a third choice. There is no reason to change this decision." ...So Rio Ferdinand for the new captain, despite never being fit and being quite shit even when he is fit? Can't remember who the 3rd choice is. Presumably it's either Gerrard (who's been poor at best for as long as I can remember) or Lampard. Hooray. The baying tabloids win out over actual footballing reason. Welcome to England.

Cheated on his wife. You know, because football (and life in general) isn't just naturally full of such nonsense. Other players/captains get convicted of actual crimes and they carry on with it. His private life is a matter for him, the women, and anyone else personally involved. It does not affect his ability to do his job and shouldn't be treated as such.
The supposed 'complication' is that the girl he had an affair with was the ex-girlfriend of a fellow England teammate Wayne Bridge, and therefore it would cause disharmony in the team etc.
Yes, that's right: EX-girlfriend. She had left Bridge long before she slept with John Terry.
No, I don't understand why Bridge should care either.
