page 6&7 are up today... page 8 as soon as I ink it. Page 6 looks crappy to me, don't know why but nothing went right with it. Page 7 is a bloody masterpiece in comparison.
and my abuses of the apostrophe and quotation marks in the shop signs are satire on their frequent misuse... not misuse.

Better Pavlov's dog than Schrodinger's cat...I'd rather be alive and dribbling than potentially dead. Ehem, i think we're forgetting the IN A BOX factor. It doesnt matter if you're potentially dead if you've got a box. particularly if its cardboard and you can fit your whole self in it

I like the art, naturally. However the actual progression of the strip only fills me with dread of the trainwreck that's to come.

I aim to please, Mr. Alman. As an aside to this point, LoS2 would be no better in comic form. Simply because it relied on a constant string of witticisms to keep itself going, and once much of that is reduced and/or stripped away (as is necessary for something that wasn't written as a script like D'Spring was), there's not much of interesting stuff left over. In fact, since its plot is not so inherently farcical as much of D'Spring's is, it would probably come over as a pedestrian attempt at fantasy, rather than something very silly that also happened to be fantasy.

And that, Tim, is a very apt description of 95% of the comedic webcomics out there. ^^;;

Nothing wrong with holding your standards in that final 5%. >_>

As I go through Dspring, I will be making an attempt to edit it down, for maximum comedic timing and flow- seeing as stu wants each chapter to fit the 12 page format quite a bit will have to be cut. I will try and bring my trademark artistic charms in to make it funny and kitsch rather than weird, in-jokey, badly punctuated and highly plagiarised.
In fact Stu, it might be a good idea for you and me to sit down with a printout script and our pens and edit it together like me and Ally do with the scripts for FL and Cherry. I've got a plan for the first 24 pages but after that, we're in uncharted drawing territory.

Presumably the only reason Stu wants the 12 page format is for his own pocket, yes?

Nothing wrong with holding your standards in that final 5%. >_> Not at all. Don't forget, I tend to review story-form comics rather than the comedic stuff (I find it easier to review something that's ongoing, for one thing). I was also perhaps optimistic with that 5% good rating. There's at this point hundreds of thousands of webcomics, some of which died with only two or three updates (and even more that die stillborn with just the bare-bones of a site started and no comics). A lot of people think they can pull a Penny Arcade. No. They can't.

so true... I'm still not sure what makes a comic awesome... its not neccesarily good art or good story... because a lot of comics lack one or the other and manage to get by... there is some eleusive x factor... that must be some kind of mixture of good advertising and memorability... Tim, yes I expect so... but it works for me... because with it's current chapter length dspring could roll on for thousands of pages.

I'd say it's a combination of luck, links, and lunacy. ^^ And of course those special Crowning Moments of Awesome that just drag people in, hook, link, and sinker. (Yes, I know it's normally line, but link works for the web here ^^)

Coming soon...Tori? How soon until we get to the elves?! And would Schrodinger's cat be the physicist's proof of the existence of zombies...if the box is opened at the precise time the cat is along the continuum of life and death about 3/4 of the way towards dead? Hmmm...
