I quite like manchester in that it has things to do, but i miss being able to walk home alone at night without my flatmates throwing an epi about it

I've walked home at 3am countless times and I've been perfectly fine (although recently someone was attacked on the road outside our halls, so maybe I'll get a taxi in future)

What i dont get is that it fine for me to walk back from work at 12 which is a long way, through many iffy looking backstreets, but im not allowed to walk from our favorite club, which is five mins away from the halls on a main and busy road. wheres the logic?

Logic is overrated.

By the number of people that ignore it, I'd say it was underrated.

Thus only demonstrating the value of logic further!

I liked London. Reminded me of chicago minus the tall buildings. Oxford was pretty nice too. I went to Highwycomb(sp?) too, which was kinda a funky place. and Harrow was really nice. The pub we went to there was awsome.

Why were you in High Wycombe? Seems pretty random...

my friends boyfriend went to school there, so I stayed with them in his crappy little house for a few nights with my friend. they kept telling me that there were gang bangers about. I kinda laughed.

I love how London is Chicago minus the tall buildings...makes me wonder just how tall the buildings in Chicago are... Of course, if all goes according to plan next summer, I'll be able to see for myself!

I guess London's buildings aren't tall so much as suggestive...

Meh, that's not particularly big even in London...only 590 feet (apparently its real name is the Swiss Re, who knew?). The biggest one we've got at the moment is 'One Canada Square' down at Canary Wharf, which admittedly is only 773 feet. Though they're currently building the new London Bridge tower, due to be finished in 2008, which'll be bigger. 1018 feet tall, apparently. That being said, you have to wonder why they insist on making all of these new buildings in silly shapes: Obviously that's a CG picture... And the Sears tower is 1353 feet, in case anyone wanted to compare. >_>

Sure, bring gender into it. Are we going for the "Men are too competitive because women never are. No. Never", or the "Penis extension Freudian bullshit" angle with this one?
