okay, well then i'll spare you, Chicago's a bit of a long way to go to kill people without the help of missiles and that could get me in trouble with the UN, they might impose sanctions on me or something...

I noticed some commercial-looking advertisements in Footloose tagboard. Better delete them quick or you'll be swamped with such parasitic ads. If the advertisers persist, you could send the companies advertised a bill for a day's advertisement in FL tagboard(charge them 20£/line or something).

Yep. Is there some way i can block that kind of crap? unfortunately because the tagboard is externally hosted, I've got no real way of contolling what code attaches itself to it.

Quick deletion and no traffic to the advertiser sites is the best you can hope for. If the ads won't stay for long, the advertiser will give up eventually.
As for the archives link, I think it is a good idea. Maybe something along the line of row of links:
First Previous Archives Next Latest
First, previous, next and latest could be arrows, or shoes(the tip of the shoe points the direction), in which case first and latest could be a pair of shoes close to each other, and archives link could be the decorative centerpiece with Footloose-themed art in it and word the Archives.

I must say I disagree on the too much white comment. I'm a black and white comics fan, and most manga do use a lot of white, with minimal shading. In fact my favourite comic, Strangers in Paradise, sticks almost entirely to black and white, only occasionally using grey tones at all.
And the blurring in panel 4 so that only Jin was in focus, was entirely the point, so that you get impression of Jimmy's attention being solely on her.

Bunt, we know you don't like the black and white in Footloose, but you will just have to respect our (primarily Em's, as she's the artist) decisions on how we want the comic to look. Personally, I don't find the white areas at all distracting - I like the contrast. I think Em uses a good range of tones, especially in the more recent pages. From what I gather, you read a lot of full-colour comics - which is fine, there are a lot of very beautiful, very skillfully made ones out there. This doesn't mean, however, that a different style of art is somehow inferior - it's all a matter of what you're used to. Like Em, I read mostly black and white comics, so to me, colour comics can often have an overly complicated, confusing feel (although there are naturally some exceptions - Sandman, Hellblazer etc.)
As for your comments on the position of shadows and other technical points, please remember that Em is not trying to create a life drawing. Yes, some realism is necessary to make the world of Footloose convincing (realism which, in my opinion, Em has achieved) - but the most important aspects of the drawing are the characters, their expressions and their actions. There is no point spending hours on drawing Keti with a perfectly cast shadow if this means rushing her face or her pose. I also think that focusing too much on the exact placing of shadows and tones runs the risk of making the comic look flat and sterile - one of the things I really love about Footloose is the movement. In my head, it's practically animated.
I'm not going to speak for Em here, or put words in her mouth - I know she's found your comments useful in the past - but I will state my opinion. Em's my best friend, I've known her for years and we think on a very similar wavelength, but that's only one of the reasons why we're working together on this project. The other is that, quite simply, I think she's a fantastic artist. I'm very happy with the style of Footloose. So by all means - carry on reading, carry on commenting, but please don't push for a change in that style - it won't happen unless we want it to.

Well I'll keep on trying my best (I've just begun my final year at university so time is tight). The only way to improve is constant practice I suppose so i'll just keep posting every week.
To change the subject, I've been thinking about how to go about redrawing ch1& 2 and I think the besst way to do it, would be to post one new page of chapter 4 each week, and possibly 1 or even 2 redrawn pages...
What do people think of that plan? Do you think readers will get bored if I cut down to one properly new page each week?
The rising stars of Manga entry gets posted out tomorrow... can't shake that horrible deadline feeling that I've forgotten something... I must have read the submissions guidelines 10 times today, and proofread the script about the same....
