You know what tim, I was just asking. I figured that if she hadn't it would be up her alley.
Spartacus blood and sands is another good one.

we are all loving the trueblood over here.
Yash reads that kind of book like it's going out of fashion, has done for as long as I've known her.

Annoyingly small, but nonetheless relevant Nemi strip from this morning's Metro: Although I know for a fact that Yash would disagree about the fangs being a bad thing...

So the football season has started and the massive opaque converstaion going on in Stu and Tim's thread leaves me with a desire to resurrect this one and assert our femininity.
I watched a meteor shower last night! it's not very feminine as such but it IS very pretty.

Said conversation would require Stu to come on the forum, which won't happen very often...

I've been looking up dress patterns! I found a gorgeous one that I'm planning to make ;D I'll need my grandma's help, though, because the last time I made clothes was when I was doing my D of E. (I'm also going to make some Viking kit, but that's not very feminine, especially as I'm a man when I'm a Viking) I completely forgot about the meteor shower Bah!

Can't help you. Last night I stopped by a comic book shop where a cute redhead works (probably dyed but still) and I couldn't think of a thing to say outside of a tiny bit of idle chat that lasted sixty seconds. *sigh*
You can always talk about some books you like or the like. I'd avoid politics. You either agree and then there's nothing to talk about, or disagree and that's not a good thing to happen in a date.
Good luck. ^^

Good advice/ discussion topics to avoid akward silences pls!!! I can't help either. Whenever I see someone I'm attracted to, the speech centres of my brain shut down and I turn into a gibbering idiot (more so). For example, when gorgeous Irish Brookes student came into the office one time to ask about music, my response was essentially "NnnnyarghIdon'tknowTonyhelphim!" (Tony being one of the guys I work with).

I kinda wish I could help but I'm just a hopeless nerd in real life with no dating experience whatsoever.
Logically I'd think if you can figure out something your date is very interested in, play dumb, and get them to tell you all about it, it'd work out splendidly. In practice, I have no idea how to make that happen or if it actually would work.

I went to a party last night, full of cool and attractive people that I want to be friends with- however I spoke to barely anyone because I was too shy.

For the last couple of weeks I've been intending on going to a restaurant with live bands and dancing. I keep on chickening out each time; partly because by the time 9 p.m. swings about I'm starting to feel exhausted (and didn't think of having coffee to keep me up past that time) and partly because I don't know how to dance and don't know what I'd do there. *sigh*
Edit: And looking back, I can see the irony of posting about being too chicken to go clubbing in a thread called "The Girlie Thread" =^-^=

The better I get at avoiding social situations, the harder it is for me to remember quite how awful they (sometimes) are.
But that's okay. I believe there's some kind of popular saying regarding 'ignorance' and 'bliss'.
