Mmm, estimated wedding cost: £10,500. Plus maybe another £2,500 for the honeymoon.
Yasha's parents are probably paying for £3,000-3,500 of that, though...
Happy happy joy.

ouch is that including or discluding the things yasha reckons her bonuses pay for ie dress and venue?

That, theoretically, includes all of it. So Yash believes she can contribute about £4,500 which leaves about £5,500 from my/other savings.
The total figure will invariably change in one way or another once actual quotes are obtained for the various things.

Unsurprisingly, multiple smaller things add up.
Although a £3,000 venue doesn't help... >_>

We worked on the basis that we weren't paying for anyone's clothing bar our own.
That includes bridesmaid dresses...

Sigh. May as well put the whole thing up here. NOTE that the vast majority of everything on this list (that is, bar only 3 or 4 things) is an estimate based at least partially on what some website estimates for them. Several things are estimated 'generously', with a view of it being better to overestimate costs than underestimate them. We actually expect most of these things to cost different amounts, which is fine provided they're not ALL in the upwards direction. With that said, flowers are probably one thing that's underestimated... Paid for by YashaVenue - £3,000 approx. Bride outfit (dress/cloak/circlet/shoes) - £1,500 est. Bride hair and make-up - £100 est. Paid for by Yasha's parentsFood - £2,500 approx. (at £25 a head for roughly 100 people) Drink/tab - £600 approx. (or whatever they wish to pay) Paid for by StuFlowers/bouquet/buttonholes Everything elseGroom suit - £350 approx. Groom frock coat - £300 est. Invitations - £100 est. (so no, not a big fancy professional job) Civil fees - £200 est. Photographer - FREE (Yasha's brother, plus anyone else with a camera to hand) Wedding rings - £350 est. Car - BORROWED (from...someone...with a nice car. Otherwise we'll have to rent one) Wedding cake - £200 est. Music/karaoke - £700 approx. (quote from guy Yasha knows) Bride's "going away outfit" (aka dress for Yash) - £150 approx. Hotel? - £100 approx. (depends what we want to do the night afterwards) Insurance - £50 approx Honeymoon - £2500 approx. (although really I'm expecting this to be closer to £2,000) Laaa.

Congrats on the upcoming wedding, ouchies! on the bill. Crazy though spending £1,500 on a dress that won't be worn again. -_- Ah well, it's always the woman's prerogative. If I ever get married (which means finding someone who doesn't run screaming in horror from my eccentricities) I'd suggest a low-key wedding wearing nice clothes we can wear again when going out someplace nice, and a small simple ceremony... but also know it's the theoretical lady's choice, not mine.

Well they ain't too expensive and look at that class Incidentally i suggested an expensive car then offered to pay for all the flowers so it shouldn't alter your budget Oh are you allowed to say where you're thinking of the honeymoon or is it a secret?? (Don't worry I won't show up there )

The honeymoon is being kept a secret purely because Yasha enjoys things a lot more that way.
With that said, I can't actually decide anything concrete until the holiday companies start publishing brochures etc. that cover the latter half of 2011, which I gather they'll probably release in April 2010 at the earliest. But I have looked at what's on offer at the same time in 2010 and have a good idea of what I'm going for.
Where can you find out fancy car hire prices etc. anyway?

Hmmm, gotta say that of all the different car rentals I've looked at online I'm inclined to agree with Stu on the silver wraith. Def the best looking. ^_^

Technically it (should be) in Bedfordshire... The second link would be fine for that though. Not so clear on the first one, as it speaks of where its offices are, rather than their 'range'. £425 for a brief car trip seems a bit much to me. I'd rather get a less ridiculously-classy car and save some cash. At this point I'm wandering whether I shouldn't start a separate Wedding thread for these random Tim/Stu/Em machinations...

Right, I've extracted wedding talk into another thread.
Now this one can return to more generic Girlie (and/or other discussion) things...like...like...RIBBONS AND UNICORNS.
