Hey! I want to talk about the new season of Korra in positive and negative perspectives. Is anyone with me?!

...There's a season 2 now? Bother. I'll have to wait a couple weeks before I can spare enough time to look into that.

Well, Em, if it helps, both episodes are available legit online ... if you're in America.

So by America you mean North America or the just the United States?
I generally wait to the end of the season to watch it all together, but I do that mostly because I watch it with my brother and he doesn't like waiting. I might as well watch it, if you are, though! I'll... see if there's some legal way for me to watch it or something.

So it ended. Does anyone have any thoughts?
(I actually kind of like this ending--ignoring any convenient plot holes)

It ended? I only saw the first few episodes. And that was just more "Korra clashes with authority, falls in with bad guy, doesn't recognize all the warning signs, blah blah blah" stuff. Girl is not good at reading people is what I'm saying. Misplaces her trust a lot.
I'll make an effort to get caught up on this one I guess. Perhaps I'll have more thoughts when I'm further into it.

For most of the beginning (and some of the middle) I was making the cringy face. There are a few plot twists that you might not see coming, so that keeps it interesting. I have a feeling like the creators got a laundry list of things that people didn`t like in the first season, that they felt they should attempt to remedy. Some of their efforts payed off; some of their efforts...uh...the cringy face. Anyhow, there were also a few cameos from the original series...where you will not expect them...so I`m a sucker in that those scenes immediately make things better.

I watched episode 4 and was pleased by some musical cues at one point. A subtle hint of Mars from one Mr. Gustav Holst crept into the music. It was fitting with the story at the time.
It's the little things sometimes.

This season was overall a lot stronger in my opinion. The Wan episodes were downright incredible, I enjoyed them as much as the original series. The rest was... Better.

I like how the main 4 characters spent a lot of time apart in this series, I felt like it gave them more space to develop as characters without TOO much of the omg-romantic-tension from the first series (although it was still there lol) like each of them had their own story to tell and personal development and that was pretty cool. Still- korra has to learn to read people better, this badguy thing is getting silly.

Dare we speak of spoilers?

Oh right. I had finished the season a couple weeks ago. Nothing left to spoil for me? I usually assume threads like this contain spoilers.

People were all being very vague about stuff, so I was wondering if it was on purpose--adhering to an unspoken rule of not spoiling the show...?

I think the series being finished, that anyone who isn't caught up shouldn't be reading a thread about it, therefore spoil away.

I went and watched Season 3 now. It seemed a bit short, but it wasn't bad. Getting hints of the lives of the heroes of the original Avatar series continues to be interesting.

It did seem short, didn't it? which is odd because it wasn't... I've been thinking lately about how you could interpret the korra series as a set of metaphors in support of democracy as a governing system... season one is Korra versus the communists (want to enforce 'equality' on everyone by taking away the special powers of others) season 2 is Korra versus religious extremism, and season 3 is Korra versus Anarchists...
