Once again, Piro pushes back the boundaries on just how stupidly oblivious one person can be... I just find it a bit creepy though. In the beginning Ping was going on about how she might turn out to be his little sister or his cousin...and now she fancies him...

She a confused EDS with almost no input...I'm surprised she's decided anything.
And the reason she suggested maybe a sister or cousin is because that's the best she could come up with according to how Piro had 'played' with her thus far.

She has a Chi complex. It's all very strange.

chi is ultimately pathetic, ping isn't quite as bad as her... i quite like ping, whereas chi makes me want to throw a brick.

Chi would be OK if everyone treated her the way she was, ie like a goddam two-year-old (minus the tantrums). As it is, it's just...wrong. But I like the series anyway. Maybe I'm wrong....

Chii would be annoying if she spent her time wallowing in self pity. But then, that would just make her Shinobu. As it is, you have to take her for what she essentially is: a young child. Plus she's amusing while she does it, so all in all, I like Chii. (Then of course there are the times when she goes all glowy and uber powerful, so Chii is also capable of kicking some serious ass.)

I love the laptop persocoms. I want my very own Kotoko.
Ally: OK, open the thing I was working on last time...but not the thing thing, the other thing...
Kotoko: *sigh...*

and what do we do with peole who find themselves attracted to very young children? WE CHUCK THEM IN JAIL!!!!! And there, in a nutshell, is the essential wrongness at the heart of chobits. Yes, kotoko is the best persocon on that show. I think if I owned Sumomo(plum) she would quickly find herself in the microwave.

And whaddya know - Sumomo is Stuart's favourite character...
If he had one on her it'd be hell on earth. Just think about it.

I can see Mindy with a Plum.
"Good morning, scary person!"
Heh...

Why a plum? Help! What's going on? 'Scary person' fits because, let's face it, I am!! "Woud you like some lucky white heather, young lady?" *smiles in a pleasant-yet-demonic way*

'Plum' is the name of a little robot/computer girl in the anime Chobits, who's hyperactive as hell.
At least she's called Plum in the mangas. In the anime her name is Sumomo.

You know, Mind, you might like Chobits. It has weird sexual undertones...
Em, would you microwave Plum if we could set her up to do the salutation to the sun instead of her chipper morning aerobics?
Why am I thinking about this?

Yup. Try this one for size:
The hero, Hideki, finds a persocom (a human-shaped computer/AI) - Chi, the heroine, who is very much a small child. (With boobs, admittedly.)
Guess where the 'on' switch is?

Well...it does have to be somewhere that isn't likely to get flipped accidentally. (And although Chii is very much like a small child mentally, she's probably meant to resemble a 15 or 16 year old physically...I think)
