In the October issue of Newtype magazine, it is said that four new Evangelion movies are currently in the making. It is going to consist of a prequel, a mid-series, a sequel, and a "final" movie. The first of the four movies (the prequel) is expected to come out early summer 2007.
These movies will be a totally new project, so it's not some sort of remake or improvement. But even so, the movies will be placed in the same time frame as the TV series. Newtype mentions that you aren't required to have seen Evangelion before to be able to understand and enjoy the upcoming movies.
Hideaki Anno will write the scenario for the first movie and will be the general director and manager for the entire project. Kazuya Tsurumaki will direct the movies while Yoshiyuki Sadamoto will provide character designs and Ikuto Yamashita will provide mechanical designs. Shinji Higuchi will provide storyboards for the first movie.
Khara, a new studio that shares office space with Gainax, was recently set up and is seeking production staff to work on Anno's new project.

Help me out here.

I don't think the statement needs any explanation. Or context, for that matter.

Then why choose this context to place it in and not another? There has to be some reason for such discretion. ¬_¬

She's said it many times before...it could even be used as an introduction. "Hi, this is Tim, he's a great big geek!" ;D

You are confused, my dear Ally. Stuart is referring to the sequel of one of the most glorious PS2 games ever, whose predecessor I played only yesterday. In no way should this be related to the anime series of disgrace, which I can only assume you are thinking of.
In fact, I shall go and play the original Disgaea again now, just to revel in its goodness.
Although Stuart, I would not be so excited about the PS3 know that we know of its extortionate price, delays, and other repeated failures (although in the future, Metal Gear Solid 4 may force me to change my mind). I'm actually more interested in the decidedly less expensive Wii which, were I to buy it, would in fact be my first Nintendo console since the SNES.
I would have a go at the X-Box 360 if I weren't incapable of shaking my underlying believe that Microsoft are shifty and their products can never be fully trusted.

But we all know that either everybody dies in the end, or the ending is so confusing people have to be treated for the resulting schizophrenic episodes. What's the movie going to do? Cause an aneurysm epidemic?!

seems with hindsight that :
the evangelion films never got made (to my knowledge)
my anticipation of final fantasy XII was gravely misplaced
and disgaea 2 was alright but basically the first game without the good story line

I dunno- rewatching usually ruins awesome nostalgia. Best left alone I feel- rewatching EVA would only fill with a) Asuka hatred b)religious imagery hatred c)Gendo AWESOMENESS.

I've rewatched EVA enough times anyway. I need to pinpoint other anime to rewatch...
Beyond Gankutsuou, which I rewatched then went and bought the boxset from America, since the stupid people never even released it over here.
