I said I wanted to, so I did: I coloured Keti's face in the upper-right corner of the most recent filler. It's a little later than I had intended to finish it, but that's probably appropriate when one considers the source.
I stole the colours for Keti largely from the most recent image of her with her 'aspects' in that deviant art posting, but I've never seen her with that outfit in colour, so I figured I'd just use a tan for the jacket and blue for the pants (Jeans?). Were there official colours which I should have used, though?
Oh, and of course, if Em wants me to delete this, I will. I didn't ask permission to do this first, so I figured forgiveness is a request I may have to make. For whatever reason, I can't seem to attach it to the first post in this thread, so I'll try to attach it in a subsequent message.

If I asked for permission every time before I colored, rearranged, or otherwise modified someone else's work I'd never have done most of it, regardless of their responses. Good thing? Bad thing? You decide!

From a legal standpoint? Derivative works are technically supposed to be protected except for parody, review and a couple other special cases in the United States. Not sure about the UK, though.
From a moral standpoint, I tend to take Weird Al's opinion that it's really better to ask first, and to respect the opinion of the original artist when given. Em's given me the green-light with other drawings before, though, so I figured I was probably safe.

Listen I'm pretty laid back about the use of my work, I'm not one of those people who goes hunting down every time a picture is hotlinked or reposted yelling "THEIF THEIF" because frankly I'm a busy lady. Webcomics are a free medium, pretty much if you decided to print it out page by page and bind it instead of buying a copy of the paperback, what'errrr, your wasted time you wanna colour it? okies, you wanna use it for your avatar? okies. The only time I'm gonna lose my temper is if you start trying to make money off it (that's our damn fool job, step off) or start claiming you drew it (because my ego needs the affirmation of the masses). other than that all i care about is that when someone asks "hey dude where did you get that awesome picture" you say "oh i coloured a panel from this awesome greyscale comic called footloose and you should read it"

colours are pretty spot on, keti likes black, dark red, orange and tan in her clothes, and her hair is a pale ashy blonde with indigo streaks.

Yay! Thank you, Em!
I was actually a little concerned, since after checking the last few pages I noticed her shirt's pretty dark, but if it's the kind of outfit she'd wear, sounds good.

I generally post my modifications in places that have some sort of connection to the original source of course. It's nice to try to make modifications as more of a value add than as a competitor.

I couldn't be bothered to make a new thread, but I did colour some more of Keti's faces. The latest comic inspired me, and I then went back and found another just for the grins. Attachments:

Nice job on the color. I almost forget Keti's eyecolor most of the time.
