Got my windshield replaced today (costing $50) and my car passed inspection (for $29.95) (only had to have one lightbulb replaced, so $10 extra). So my car's all taken care of in terms of being legal to drive. ^^ (Man, though... it's costly to have a car. Let's see... new title and registration was $150, another $40 for inspection and $50 for a windshield (insurance deductible)... and excise tax will be coming up probably in a month or so... and $699 for a year's insurance. Though at least the new route to work uses half as much gas each week...)
So, love the fact my car's now legal. Wincing at the cost. ^^;;

that would be quite fun... (that could be an idea for your writing project Tim, if you can't think of anything new to do) I'd kind of want to write it...

So, love the fact my car's now legal. Wincing at the cost. ^^;; I feel you pain. My car only cost me £250 (its a rust bucket) but had to shell out £700 for insurance (third party only) in order to actually use it. Wouldnt mind if i was miss danger driver but im really not! max comfortable speed is 50mph so its not like im having high speed chases any time soon

www.youtube.com/watch?v=4320y3lU-uAThis is my re-enactment group! Someone filmed us for a documentary for their college project a few weeks ago, and the finished video was just put up on Youtube. I'm in it very very briefly (I was only there for the first part of the session they filmed).

Today I went back to Southampton and did karate and surprised my former karate pals because they didn't know I was going to be there! It was awesome, I felt like the ghost of karate past. ;D

I love spending the day with friends, just hanging out, making pancakes, playing games, and the like. ^^ (The pancakes bit was because they came over Friday night and spent the night; Okay, I also love ordering a huge order of Chinese and having it for dinner Friday and lunch Saturday ^^)

So apparently in today's budget they're going to scrap stamp duty for first time buyers on properties under £250k.
GET IN~!

Hmm. "This will apply this year and next."
Unlikely that I'll be able to take advantage of it by then - 2012 seems more reasonable, what with wedding/deposit saving etc.
I'll be annoyed if whatever-government-it-is-by-then bump it back up...
