Now I'm envisioning Emily and crew as the Hobbits from the Fellowship. =^-^=

That actually makes food shopping infinitely more awesome than it is otherwise ever capable of being.

It was really hard work. Then I made us the luncheon of champions. Waffles, bacon, black pudding, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, avocado and salad. Unfortunately pete has now exhausted his limited supply of compassion for mankind and played dragonage all afternoon whilst I shovelled the driveway. >_< It's alright though because its His turn to cook dinner

Now I'm craving brunch, which is very silly at 5.30pm.
The roads were a bit better today, so I made it down to the pub. Only one of my friends made it (her journey was far more epic than mine, she walked for about an hour), but we had mulled wine and crisps and a small child tried to negotiate with us to swap our spare chair for a stool that she'd taken from somewhere else (we said no because her mum obviously wanted to go home).

I love my new Nook (e-book reader from Barnes and Noble). =^-^= I spent over an hour on the Manybooks free e-book site downloading all of the Sherlock Holmes and H.P. Lovecraft stories, along with several Mark Twain books and various older scifis that caught my attention. And Martha Wells' "The Element of Fire" which I've long enjoyed reading on the computer.
Unfortunately I couldn't access other non-ebook files I put on it. ^^;; Shame, it would have been nice to read some of Dr. David Brin's free short stories, or some of the old Homeworld fanfiction by Brian "The Reflection" Lacki.
Hope you all got stuff you want and enjoy! =^-^=

I'm the little devil near the top keeping the picnic basket out of the reach of the teddybear. =^-^= It's part of an ongoing joke where everything is my fault because I'm like the Devil that way. ^^

That was from Con, a forumite of the Megatokyo forums, where I've an overinflated presence. ^^;;

I love this song Ally is taken with (sadly it took me a tiny bit to realize why - I'm used to thinking of her as "Ally" instead of "Alice"). It's a fun song though so I can understand why she likes it. ^^;;

Well, the drainage pipe for the washing machine thawed. I don't need to go to the laundromat now to do my washes! Well, unless it freezes again... ^^;; (Ran a hot water & bleach load in the washing machine to clean it out - it had been sitting there for several days with cold dirty water. Think I'll run a couple loads of whites that need bleach (and hot water) tomorrow as well, just to make sure.)

I love this comic that was done up on the Megatokyo forums (back story - we were joking around about what would happen if I rewrote the Bible to take into account modern things like robots and the like): The characters involved are Teddy Werebear and Brigid - Teddy keeps hitting on Brigid who threatens him with blunt object trauma (same Brigid who did the fan-art for the Reality Day event).

Blackwell's bookshop is starting a Teen Fiction Reading Group! (Which I've checked is for people of all ages who will be reading teen books, rather than a book group for teens, because it would be a bit weird if I went to that). And the first book we'll be discussing?
Noughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman. Hell yeah.

I'm still busy being obsessed with Louise Rennison... although Withering Tights is really not funny in comparison to her previous series.
