Yasha's favourite present that I got her this year? Meccano. As a general rule, if the toy is intended to be loved by a 12 year old boy, Yash will love it too.

Yasha wishes to convey the joy of using spanners/screws/etc. in Meccano, over the slightly more simple (but still good) matter of sticking bricks together.
Personally, I'm not fussed either way provided I have a good set to play with. >_>

Merry belated Christmas everyone!
I got a keyboard! I now have the opportunity to practice piano every day. And I just ordered the Yes Virginia music, so hopefully I will soon be able to hammer out the crazy Amanda Fucking Palmer-style!

I've a saber (from India, with a real edge on it - not ultrasharp, mind you, but sharp enough that if I hit someone with it with effort I'd probably cut them) that my grandfather brought back from the Pacific. ^^ Well, technically it's my grandmother's. But I laid claim to it when my grandfather was alive. It WILL be mine. Heh heh heh... *gleam in eye*

It'd be easy enough to sharpen...

Oh, no doubt. But swords don't need a razor-sharp edge to kill. Not that I'd want to go waving it around at someone. ^^;;
