well i handed in the practical but i only had 2 hours in which to do it due to the following. A sodding fire alarm going off so the whole building is evacuated. and a three hour practical which was a waste of everyones time cos all we did was cut wax for three hours!!

You could probably have got an extension due to illness if you'd have thought about it

but to that he would of had to go to the doctor, put effort into pretending he felt far worse than he does, speak to his tutors etc in which time he probably could have done the work twice over

Not necessarily, it depends on how important the work is, if its unassessed they'd be more lenient

its assesed if it was unassesed no-one would care and wouldnt do it

We have to do our unassessed work otherwise you get your personal tutor threatening to remove you from the course (not that it happened to me, I'm a good girl)

In one of my modules this year, they've decided to set it so that *everybody* has to prepare to make the presentation for the seminar, and then they pick one person at random to do it. If you're incapable they throw you out.
Why not just let the people who've been assigned the essay do it like everywhere else? ¬_¬

Thats so evil, it totally defeats the purpose of seminars... which i thought was that you go do a bit of research, then share it with your seminar pals so everyone learns, If you've all got to do everything, its just.. well its just evil!

my seminars are completely different again, its more like a mini lecture but with the opportuntity to say 'What?' rather than just think it

our seminars are student led, so each group is given the subject the lecture will be on, and when the lecturer has finished the student group gives their own interpretation and findings around the subject...it's really interesting... Especially since my current module is Contemporary Japanese Art and Visual Culture

For my seminar tomorrow we're meant to have read the British Army Field Regulations from both 1909 and 1924, whereupon we point out that, despite featuring WW1 inbetween, they are virtually identical.
How we're supposed to stretch that out for an hour I don't know.
