Yay! And then I can fulfil my lifelong dream of actually having the figure for a short skirt before being too old for it.

No, I really can't. I'm happier with my weight now but I still have no illusions about what I look like when I wear a skirt that's shorter than mid-calf.
But hell, I love my jeans anyway, so it's all good. ;D

uk.news.yahoo.com/09042006/325/bird-flu-kill-100-000-british-children-report.htmlCan we say "gratuitous scaremongering"? I'm starting to get a little pissed off about the way they're hyping up this bird flu. *touches wood, not wanting to tempt fate, BUT* we coped with SARS, we coped with foot and mouth, so what makes everyone think we're not going to cope with this? It's not going to be a serious problem unless it mutates into a human-to-human virus. Until then - shit, we'll all have to stop picking up dead birds and rubbing them all over our faces! Really, why do we get so panicky about this stuff? Edit: Oh, and I love the fact that the Daily Telegraph has seen these "secret" government documents. And that they're planning to pressgang retired lorry drivers. Wow, it'll be our generation's Dunkirk! "How did you get that scar, Daddy?" "This? This was during the bird flu of '06. I was delivering a lorry full of chocolate to Tingewick and some rabid bitch in glasses hijacked my truck." ;D

Why must you keep using Yahoo for news...not only is it vastly inferior to BBC.co.uk, but this Apple Mac I'm browsing on would actually allow me to open it.
Anyway, if this is the report on the possible nuclear strikes on Iran that I think it is, it's a bullshit story made up by the New Yorker newspaper.

Im getting really narked with all the bird flu scaremongering. your still hundreds of times more likely to die from regular flu or one of the many other diseases e.g. CHD, cancer, etc. Unless you like licking wild birds, your unlikely to be at risk right now

bush is an idiot, and one of these days he will have to admit that he is not the police of the world, however, i doubt he will be allowed to get away with action against iran...

Based on some of the things he's said and done in the past, I don't think he's a very nice person...
I was watching the Simpsons yesterday and heard the line "Son, this country has a system designed to STOP IDIOTS LIKE YOU FROM EVER BECOMING PRESIDENT!" (or words to that effect) Kind of ironic now...
